Chapter 1: One-Man Army

I had to clean up my father's corpse.
First, Comet went to the bathroom to drain the blood, then separated the corpse into appropriate sizes.
After that, she brought trash bags and put the pieces in. It wasn't neat. The bags tore, perhaps due to the weight, so she had to wrap them several times.
When she opened the refrigerator to put the bags in, there wasn't enough space. She moved the freezable items to the freezer. As she pressed the bags into the newly created empty space, it was already dawn.
Her dress got dirty, and she was exhausted, so she took a leisurely shower and ate an early breakfast. After doing the dishes, she put the bed sheets in the washing machine and cleaned the house with a wet mop.
The doorbell rang when Comet had finished cleaning up the corpse and was sitting on the sofa drinking coffee.
"Who is it?"

Comet felt like she was sweating. She quickly glanced around the living room and opened the front door.

Comet gestured for him to sit on the living room sofa and headed to the kitchen.
"Would you like some coffee? I don't have any other drinks."
"No, thank you."

Comet turned around and returned to the living room.
"So, what brings you here...?"

The official looked around the house, searching for those family members. When his gaze swept over the kitchen, Comet quickly said,

The Healer said that while sitting in the passenger seat and rummaging through documents.
"Questions? Hmm."
Since she would experience it soon anyway, she didn't have any major questions.
"Come to think of it, my father and mother are divorced, so legally, we're not family, are we?"
The Healer stopped taking out the documents and fell into thought.

The assemblywoman laughed again. As Comet looked again, most of the aides didn't seem to be laughing because they were genuinely amused.

After the assemblywoman left, Comet was shown to her accommodations by the aide. The assigned room was a single room with basic furniture, so it seemed comfortable enough to live in.
Her mother came to visit after dinner, close to midnight. She looked tired, as if she had a lot of work.
"Missing, huh? That guy is a nuisance to the end."
"Father, yes, I guess so. We could have ended things on a better note."
"Don't bother searching for him. He's just a useless old man who couldn't take care of himself."
Comet scratched her cheek.
Her mother sighed deeply, lost in thought, then crossed her arms and stared at Comet intently.
"Did you customize your appearance yourself?"

Comet unnecessarily spun around, puffing up her dress, and gave a light bow.
Her mother's gaze shifted.

After her mother left, Comet fiddled with a knife, then put on her coat and left the facility around midnight when the moon was up.
