Setup Method
🕑 Added 2021-08-05 22:20:49 +0000 UTCHDR

Enabling HDR makes the video more vivid.
It seems that more and more smartphones and tablets also support HDR.
In the case of iPhone, it should play correctly on iPhone X and later models with HDR display (iPhone X, iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max). iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro, iPhone 13 Pro Max).
Depending on the environment, the colors may be different from the intended ones, please let me know if this is the case so I can refer to it in the future!
I'm writing to tell you how to turn on HDR on your pc!
To set up, your equipment (display, graphics board, cables, etc.) must support HDR.
HDR600 or higher monitors are recommended.
1. Right-click on the desktop and click "Display Settings".
2. Click the rectangle labeled 1 or 2 to select a display that supports HDR.(See image)
3. Turn on "Use HDR" at the bottom of the screen! (If the display is not supported, the item will not appear)
4. Then click Windows HD Color Settings.
5. From "Choose Display", select a display that supports HDR.
6. Turn on "Use HDR"!
* Depending on the environment, changing to the above settings may cause the display to look strange.
In that case, turn on HDR only when playing a video.
It is a media player used for playback, but I recommend "VLC media player"!
You can play HDR videos without any difficult settings.
If you play HDR video and it appears grayish, the setting has failed.
※2022/02/19 update
It seems that updates to the media player may cause it to not turn gray even when HDR is not supported.
The best way to check if you are playing HDR correctly is to take a screenshot and paste it into Paint.
While the HDR video is playing, press the print screen key (Prt Sc or PRINT SCRN, depending on your keyboard) in the upper right corner of your keyboard, launch Paint, and paste it with Ctrl+V.
If HDR is enabled, the brightness will not be fully represented and you will see a blown-out image.
After making the above settings, please view with an HDR compatible media player (VLC media player, etc.)!
