It really shows the difference in maturity between Tanjiro and the hashira, like they seem so much older than Tanjiro but shinobu for example is only like 18 yet she seems a lot older than that

Especially from Mugan Train forward it's really fun to pay close attention to the music! Every character has an anthem arranged differently depending on the emotion of the scene, but what I think is even more fun is how they constantly blend character themes together during battles. The final battle here is the perfect example of Rengoku and Akaza's themes doing an almost constant call and response as the fight ebbs and flows.

That's because Howl is Batman. But I also agree, Mononoke Hime is my top Ghibli film. Spirited Away performed the best in the west, and it's a gem, but something about Mononoke just activates my neurons.

Random interesting note! Tanjiro is not shown taking his own life in that nightmare Enmu (The Dream Demon) showed him. Tanjiro was woken up by pure unbridled rage. Imagine being so angry it subconsciously wakes you up from your dream.

I have legitimately never cried as much as I did when I saw this movie. It absolutely broke me. I was actually feeling depressed from it for a few days afterward. Then I went back to the theater and watched it again, this time in English dub. I cried even more the second time. From what I understand, that was pretty much everyone's reaction when they first saw this movie. And keep in mind that most of us didn't even have that one episode of season 2 that you guys saw. All of our mourning was purely based on what we saw of Rengoku in season 1 (which wasn't much at all) and this movie.

(a little personal anecdote but uh... Demon Slayer was a recommended to me by one of my best friends whom i always get anime recommendations from. i binged season 1 and we promised each other to watch the movie together when it would come out, but the pandemic happened and he passed away. so for the longest time i couldn't watch this movie even several months after it was released, among all the other animes i started because of him. but one night i decided to just turn off my brain and give it a shot. and then rengoku... lmao well. needless to say i bawled.) i loved this reaction!!! i'm so glad you guys got attached to rengoku that quickly. he's the best boi

If you're gonna watch Your Name, it's integral you watch a version that shows subtitles for information within the animations. A major moment is missed by many reactors without it. It'd be first on my list of requests too. Some of my favourites are also 'A Silent Voice' & 'I Want To Eat Your Pancreas' Anything by Studio Ghibli is of course astounding too. Anyway I'm gonna go cry some more now, I can't wait for the next season of Demon Slayer <3

The overall story of Demon Slayer isn't necessarily groundbreaking but it does a phenomenal job at making you love a character in such a short amount of time. Rengoku quickly became one of my favorite anime characters.
