Next Update Talk #5
🕑 Added 2025-12-13 10:07:42 +0000 UTCHello everyone,
This is going to be the last time I'll be writing before the next update rolls in.
So, first of all, schedule. There's a definite date of release for the next update. I'll release it on December 22nd, which is the very last possible day I can do so because I'll be leaving on December 23rd for Christmas.
I tried to postpone it as far as possible because, while I knew this would be a tricky moment in my life due to the moving, a lot of last-minute medical checks and IRL stuff are making me lose tons of time. Debugging as well. My fellow testers have been hard at work debugging a first version of the update and boy did I lost time correcting the myriad of bugs ^^'
So yeah, 9 days left, with at least 2 full days where I'll be physically unable to work, it's going to be quite the rush. But I REALLY need to do as much as possible because while I'll take a break during Christmas, things have been a bit slower for my moving and my moving is planned for the beginning of February now. So while it means I can slip in a small update through January, it also means the month will be filled with all the rest of the preparations, so it's going to be a bit chaotic. Sorry for that -_-
So, for different reasons, we had to postpone the last Akiko scene: liquids are taking too much time and I didn't want Peak to go crazy with work right before his departure (he's leaving on the 15th). That being said, a good amount of the new update will be focused on Akiko's side nonetheless. One of the reason that makes it look like we're slow is that we're going back to already existing scenes to either "finish them" or "improve them".
And that update got both. In the case of Yuki's BJ scene, there were lots of elements missing (I even mentioned them in the previous update), like the pubic hair, the clothes, some combinations that didn't work together. So we had to go back to it to add those missing elements and tweak them. Since we knew the pic wasn't 100% finished in the previous update, Peak only did the liquids required for the only scene of the game showing it. But now that we've "improved it", he could add all the liquids, and that's quite the work.
What I mean by "finishing" a pic is simply adding the drawn elements I postponed because they weren't necessary for a specific update. Typically, the gloryhole scene. There was supposed to have more drawn content than what the game currently have. And Peak had to add it as well for that update. And yes, you'll see it, don't worry. Of course, that ALSO means doing all the liquids for that specific pic.
That's why he got less time to work on new pics: because he had to spend time on these. I told you that SoVR was supposed to be the last big SoV game so I don't really want to cut corners (especially now that Ayame and Yuki are the only ones playable). So even if it takes longer I want to make sure everything I asked is present.
If you want a little bonus info (take that as a Christmas gift because I don't know if I've already mentioned it), but at some point, we'll implement X-Ray as an option. And it will be availble in every scene where it's possible. But as you can guess, that will take a good amount of time to do, and that will delay scenes as well. But I don't want to remove the option of X-Ray just because of that. So yeah, it's all about making choices.
So, what to expect with Akiko for that update? Well first of all, there should be a surge of content in the "Church of the Glory Hole". I don't know how many scenes I'll manage to fit in, but I'll try to add as much as I can. Then, there will be the "scenario" part that is going in a completely different direction than what I had originally planned but that is going to be more linear with a full "story" (Don't know how to call it otherwise because it's hardly a story ^^'), that will lead to something more fitting for the skill "Akiko's Skinship", which unlocking will lead in the last part of the content (the one we had to delay) with a real depening of relationship between Yuki and Akiko and not just "let's hang out at the same place together". I think some of you will be VERY pleased with the 180° I made on that regard (it might include female with p***s? 8D)
Lastly, there are also scenes that I'm supposed to add that are a bit more "random". These are scenes triggered by Yuki herself (without context.) I've already added one, but I'd like to add more. When I see the amount of scenes I still have to implement, you'll start realizing that in the end, the skill tree is nothing to be afraid of and soon, the game will containt enough scenes to fly over it without needing to unlock every scene :p
That's all for today. I'll see you on the 22nd, meanwhile, take care of yourself and as always, thank you for your continuous support!
See ya o/

"The last big SoV game" that hurt. "Female with p***s" nice. Good luck with the move.
