How would she be able to tell what may have happened to Hasegawa by looking at Makoto's memories? He wouldn't know. Seems like it's confirmed to be that way in the novels, but that scene on its own certainly still leaves room for speculation.

The idea is that this girl's trying to get her family heirloom back, but being an adventurer costs a tone of money. She wasn't skilled enough and ended up in debt. A fairly rational conclusion to your regular impulsive teenager imo.

Tomoe explained this in her convo with Mio. The girl in this world is just a doppelganger, she's not the same as the MC's junior from Earth. They literally just look extremely similar, but are completely different people. Tomoe confirms it by looking through the MC's memories, so there's 0 chance it's false info.
