Waterdeep City Map - Castle Ward - Pt 2 (All Tiers)
🕑 Added 2024-10-15 17:42:48 +0000 UTCWaterdeep. The City of Splendors. Castle Ward. The central ward of the city and home to much of the government of Waterdeep.
This is Release 2 for the Castle Ward and adds 168 buildings.
Cumulative Castle Ward building count: 400
Map Notes. A couple unique areas for Part 2 - the God Catcher walking statue and the Market area.
For the God Catcher, I wanted to capture the converted use - into tenements - within the map. The God Catcher is sunk to the left hip and appears to be climbing out with it's right leg and left arm, while the right arm reaches up towards the floating sphere above it. The wonderful illustration by Vincent Proce (an original WDH artist) was a great reference for this. This building quickly got added to my "I'd love to do a battlemap scale map of this list".
The Market area I took a similar approach to The Wide in Baldur's Gate, re-using the market stall assets and choosing a less colorful palette.
Files. Files are attached below in both jpg and png formats, in 10px and 20px grid sizing (maps are not gridded). There are 2 different zip files.
