Status Update #64

This week we revisited Eve's scene to see what more we could add to it before calling it done.
We ended up adding an additional option with a small path like in 0.5 to better match her energy. Earlier in the production stage we thought about making a few key animations as well, but we think the renders will work perfectly as is. We will however be trying the toaster "pseudomation" style in this scene to see if we can give it that extra punch, or slap.
Other than that, we also worked on the Android version and some other small tasks.
We also have a couple of yap topics this week, everyone's favorite.
Fan tier
We appreciate all the support for developing Summer Heat. That being said, Fan tier isn't intended as a paid entry point to argue in the comments. It's for people who play the game and would like to participate, follow or support the development in a small way, or drop their tier between updates while continuing to follow the weeklies if they're interested.
We're well aware that many players come from different corners of the internet, and that's fine. We're happy if you like our game and would gladly hear your thoughts on it. However, sharing your thoughts is completely free and you don't need to pay a dollar to be heard. The best place to share your thoughts is in the feedback surveys, which are posted after every update. There you can tell us about your experience with the development cycle, what you'd like to see more of, and what you think we could or should do better.

Update when?
Thereโs a good reason why we havenโt set any official dates yet. We almost set them several times already, but now we know that we would've missed those dates. The same is true for the 2025 release window. Unfortunately, that won't be happening.
The 90-95% guesstimation comes up quite a bit during the Update when? discussions. To clarify, that number was in relation to the created planned content at the time. It did not include the rendering times or any of the post-production, AKA The Great Polishing. And until those stages are done, we are not going to commit to any dates. There won't be a shadow release either.
Like many of you, we also would've liked a 2025 release. But after 0.6, our priorities were simple: take the time we need to make an update worth playing and waiting for. We'd never want to rush out something we don't feel confident about just so we can say we released something. We'd much rather release an update that took longer, but delivered a better experience.
And we're not wizards. Ultimately, the only way we can find out if something works is by sticking with it. We trust you'll let us know afterwards.

Our coder Rob will be gone during the holidays as he returns to the Viking lands. You can expect the next status update to be either skipped, or much simpler.
An opportunity also arose and we've been looking into the possibility of having an office in the future, as we're changing things up on a bureaucratic level.

I think what is frustrating many supporters is after waiting (and paying) for 14+ months for the next release is knowing the amount of content will likely be a couple hours worth of game/story before having to wait another 14+ months for the next part. I hope I'm wrong but my guess is this will be the last patch before the vast majority of supporters move on to other creators who produce equally made content in a fraction of the time. I think most of us continued hanging around just to see when or if the next patch is released to see if the wait was worth it and sadly I fear it won't be. I hope I'm wrong. However, as a business model, its incredibly lucrative so well done for that.

So much vitriol... The devs are building their art to share with the world. They shouldn't have to compromise their artistic vision just because a bunch of people shout "update when?!" The update comes when they're happy with releasing it. There are hundreds of other AVNs you can go play while you wait for the update. Go preoccupy your time with those. If you feel taken advantage of, then don't sub to their Patreon. Simple. The work released so far has been great and that's why I'm here to support them. Do your thing Naughty Fox and release it when you're ready. Your true supporters will be here when you do.

Eve's scene ๐๐ Yeahโฆ every fan is differentโฆ like me ๐โฆ who's just chilling/vibing day by day, enjoying life as it is, and just wants to support his Devs/AVNs as much as he can, who's also mellowed out (throughout the years of supporting AVNsโฆ 7 years since I started ๐ ), thus developing God-like patience in the process and having come to love and appreciate all his Devs and their hard dedication/work to their AVNs. Yes, I would like an update and to play SH (who wouldn't)โฆ But I know it takes time. But life also moves on, and so will I ๐. And I have many other AVNs to keep me busy in the process of waiting (I support A LOT ๐ )โฆ I'm the AVN ninja ๐ฅท (I'm everywhere ๐คฃ). I can be negative, but where is that going to get me ๐ ? Or I can use that energy on something else that will make me happy and live my optimistic lifestyle. I think I'll choose the latter ๐ .
