So, here was my day today....
Woke up an hour before I needed to be at the interview with Mizuho. If you don't know the Mizuho I'm referring to, and if you are blind and can't see her picture above and instantly recognize her, GO LISTEN TO BELLRING SHOUJU GIRL'S HEART RIGHT NOW. Go put on the song, "THE EDGE OF GOODBYE," and then, for good measure, go check out THERE THERE THERE'S, and listen to their cover of "ASTHMA", which is really a cover of themselves, since that was a classic Bellruha song back in the day that TTT's kind of incorporated into their own crow's nest of songs. And if anyone could do that, it was TTT's... because they were basically BELLRUHA reincarnated.
And yeah, Mizuho is at the center of it all. She's basically idol royalty, and I'm EXTREMELY grateful and humbled that she agreed to an interview with me (Thanks Ricky! He pulled that one off for me!).
So yeah, got to Shinjuku, which is where we did the interview, realized that it was far the fuck away from the side of Shinjuku station I was on. So I managed to grab a cab, but then received a message from Space Market (the company I usually rent rooms from to do interviews) that there had been some kind of issue with the booking... it wouldn't be ready for another half hour past when I told everybody to get there.
FUCK THAT.
I went to the place anyway and there was nobody in there. So yeah, I just set up my stuff anyway. Crisis averted.
Ricky showed up actually earlier than he had to be there. Impressive. I think he was excited as much as I was to be interviewing somebody who meant so much to him back in the days when he was an idol fan and particularly a fan of Bellruha. That group is the main reason he decided to start Necroma, by the way. Ask him about it sometime. Or better yet, maybe I will when I hopefully get a chance to interview him (more on that in a moment).
Mizuho and her manager showed up as well, a little past the appointed time. But still, plenty of time to do the interview. IN fact, it was done so fast that I had all kinds of extra time for the interview room. I was impressed with Mizuho. She talked about her days in Bellruha and the TTT's, and what she's up to now, and what she thinks about idols. I got some really good material from her. Just had some air conditioner noise to contend with and some street noise, but whatever... it's a fucking documentary, not a feature film drama!
Also, Mizuho is always very sweet to me, anytime I have any kind of exchange or talk with her. She has very soft eyes too... I like that so much about her. I also think she is very kind-hearted from what I can tell, but also she's been doing the idol thing since she was like, 15, or something, so this girl has seen it all and done it all. It is easily the biggest interview, by far, that I have for my documentary. The question is... should I do more with Mizuho? Like, live footage of her shows maybe? Or possibly behind the scenes stuff if she permits it? Your thoughts?
So, after Ricky and Mizuho and her manager left, I tried to call some foreign fans to do a quick interview with me to save me the cost of the room not being used. Nobody could do it last minute, which is totally understandable. So I started to use the room to chill out and work on scheduling more interviews and live shoots, and fell asleep for like forty minutes.
Woke up, left the place, then walked back to the station (keep in mind, when I do these interviews, I'm hauling so much equipment that I literally come home with red welts on my shoulder blades from the bag straps digging into my skin. I am carrying a gigantic softnbox light, boom mic stand, my tripod, tons of camera equipment, and my heavy ass camera rig, all in several bags), then went to Shibuya. I had to kill time there because I needed to meet with Mishima san about some business. He showed up a few hours after I arrived in Shibuya, so I took that time to grab some dinner and work on scheduling again. I ended up zoning out a little, getting a little depressed over many things, but eventually found my way back to my brain and finished some work I needed to do.
After Mishima san and me were done working, he invited me to go see Negicco. He was a guest, and it was at some new venue opening in Shibuya. So I said, sure, why not? We went together and then after the show, we had a drinking party with Negicco. They were very kind to us and to all the other guests that were there. The manager of the venue spilled beer everywhere. It was too funny. The Negicco girls put on a great, great performance. As to be expected from a group as experienced as they are. The new venue too is beautiful and smells really new... I hope to go there many more times.
After this was done, I came home and have been working on the computer since, doing more work, trying to make a website for Zeroshiki since they need an English site bad, and of course, working on Idol Underworld orders. I have so many new ones... thank you everybody for that. I also will have THREE new groups I'm going to debut pretty soon here. And it's possible I might be getting an entire record label of groups coming up soon. I want to keep rolling. Truly... this is fun getting these groups. For example, one of the new groups, I did their chekis the other morning, right before I went and worked at the Necroma live. The girls I did cheki with... so so so funny. I look forward to working with these girls in the future.
Anyway, just an idea of what I've been up to. One bad thing... Ricky told me that it might not be possible to do any filming of Necroma's lives in Tokyo. I had high hopes to do the one man live in October but... there are only four members at that live. So... I get where he is coming from, even though I can totally film the lives and edit them so that I focus on the members I am doing the documentary with and nobody else in the live, but... I dunno. We'll see how that plays out. It's possible that Necroma might not have a large role in this documentary, which kills me, but I get it. Right now, Necroma is in a huge transition space, and I'm not sure what I'll be able to show and not show. I'm going to try to focus more on the behind the scenes stuff with the members I do have on film, because that is what most of you want to see anyway, I think, from Necroma. There are a million live shows on Youtube of them anyway. But yeah... let me see what I can do about this one. I am hoping to really do something great with this but we'll see.
As for my personal life... yep, no time to think about anything, which I think works for me. Maybe. I have started to watch a lot of older movies from my past that made me happy growing up. Just finished watching Grandma's Boy and now currently watching ALIENS. Gotta love anything that can burst through somebody's stomach and has acid for blood. I wish that was me sometimes. I feel like I'm surrounded by people though who easily can have that description next to their names. Seriously.
But the girl that I loved... she's there, in the world, and I don't want to think about her being loved by another human being. That's too painful to consider. I am thinking that maybe when this work is all done and over with, I can really settle down and find maybe somebody who fits that perfect ten, perfect heart description I talked about in my last post. Or somebody close to it... I realize nobody is perfect. But I'm around perfect looking people all day long, and it would be nice to have somebody who looks amazing all to myself. Again. Except this time... I hope she is super nice and wants to give her soul to me as much as I want to give my soul to her.
Something I think to look forward to...
