such a great reaction, thank you! glad you liked it and found it so fascinating. loved you getting heated at the bad review at the end haha. "incendies" means "fires" in french. pronounced more like "on-sen-dee" but i said it wrong forever. incredible, incredible acting. starts off a bit slow and confusing but like you said, i think that's deliberate. the film slowly taking us thru brutal subject matter without spectacle. the lack of music except in certain scenes really adds to that. the country "daresh" where it takes place is actually fictional, but it and its conflict is meant to evoke various religious conflicts in the middle east. i have lots more movies to recommend :)
