The creative choices of editing and music during the Sawyer note reading scene is pretty genius. Soft eerie music as the note is being read, drums build briefly with the sound of the letter being torn along with quick cuts of Sawyer's eyes showing grief and rage, then silence as Sawyer releases all of his misery into an act of revenge that he promised himself since childhood. Just brilliant.
