This mod relies on the XML Injector which was throwing exceptions after the patch until the recent update to 4.2. It is available here by clicking Download: https://scumbumbomods.com/xml-injector/ I just checked it myself, and once I updated the XML Injector, it worked without errors (and found pirate maps, chests, etc). You can use my email if you need to send me a file or something. it's here: simsonianlibrary@gmail.com .

I can't remember if this is the mod I tried using before or I stumbled upon another treasure one but I really love the idea of this. Is this still compatible? Also I don't know if you saw my other comment but my last exceptions were different than yours. I did see however that many other mods was upated again so I'm hoping maybe it was because of other mods I believe that's a thing idk lol but I"m going to update stuff again and see if I get the error. Is there a more convenient way to contact you?

it's great to hear that people still enjoy this mod! I know it's one of my fallbacks when a sim needs a little cash to pay the rent, lol. I've been thinking of where I might go with it for awhile. I want to add all of the streets as map destinations. There are 92 of them, so I've been looking for a more streamlined way to handle it than the way I am now, but I have some ideas about that now. I like the idea of more variety in the stuff you find. I'm not sure I can come up with entirely theme-appropriate chests and treasure, but there are a lot of possibilities. I'll keep that in mind -- after I read your comment, I picked up the code for it and started thinking about it again. Thanks for the feedback!

Hi there! I just wanted to say how much I love your Pirate Treasure mod [and all of your other A+ gameplay mods] —it's such a creative and immersive idea! I've been using it while playing a story-heavy Sims save, and it's added a wonderful layer of exploration. I was wondering if you might be open to a quick question or two about how it works behind the scenes? I'm experimenting with a themed gameplay setup inspired by a strange blend of Planescape:: Torment and Baldur’s Gate 3 (I can't access my main gaming rig right now, so I'm doing a fantasy-style playthrough in The Sims instead). Your mod is already a great fit, and I’d love to build on it a little if it's feasible. My hope is to: * Add custom CC items (some usable, some decorative) as randomized loot inside the treasure chests. * Use different types of chests to give a little more variety Is it possible to use more varied objects as loot and use different chests [to have the aesthetic of the chest match the lot/world/neighborhood]? I’d completely understand if it’s complex or if certain parts are hardcoded—I’m just curious about how you approached it and whether a variation like this might work. Thanks so much for your time, and again, amazing work on the mod! It really enhances exploration in a fun, CRPG-like way.
