Collapsed under the weight of their oaths, these fallen Knights are bound to ruined castles or abandoned chapels. Some sold their souls to protect their brethren, transgressed against their patron saint or broke their oath so severely that it resulted in the total corruption of their being. Whatever the reason for their downfall, these erstwhile epitomes of piety and righteousness have become dark mirrors of their past, now doomed to cause the same pain and suffering they were once sworn to fight. Steeped in tragedy, they are solemn creatures, most harboring the secret desire to die in combat, being finally brought to justice by a righteous blade.
The Knight of Tragedy can also serve as an intense boss encounter for Curse of Strahd's Argynvosthold - which coincidentally just got a makeover over at Beneos Battlemaps! Check it out!
As always, this release includes FoundryVTT integration for the Foundry Tier and come with a free PDF for all tiers and even non-patrons. The PDF includes lore snippets, themed magic items, story prompts and insights on how to effectively incorporate your new monsters into your adventure and encounters! Take a look!
To add some modularity, of which we are always a fan of, there is a table to inspire you take on the topic of Knightly Orders, enabling you to further specialise the Knight of Tragedy!
