Token Thursday #2 - New features, more on Token packs and a poll!
🕑 Added 2022-04-23 14:06:14 +0000 UTCYeah, not a Thursday, either. Eh, we'll get it right eventually!
1. What's coming?
Our Stormwyvern was so kind letting us demonstrate our new Custom Idle feature on him. You'll be able to set each Token's idle animation seperately and we'll supply you with a bunch of different top down idle animations for each creature! The switch is going to be quick and painless via a new button on the token HUD, as seen above! We are also working on moving audio sources for Tokens, so actors make audible sounds, like flapping wings for flying creates, harrowing screeches or guttural growls! Each encounter will come with its own soundscape, amping up the imersion. Cool bonus: This works keyed to the specific animatons, you will be able to hear screams or roars accompanying the attacks, but, for example, a threatening snarl when idle. Don't worry, you'll only be able to hear this if you are standing right next to the Token - no unnecessary noise pollution!
Is he made of castle or is the castle made of him? He screams, for he does not know...
2. Structural Changes
As announced last week, there will be some structural changes coming to the Token module. We are decentralizing the Tokens and the Tokens meta data in preparation of releasing Tokens via different sources. The goal is for the module to scan the asset folder for Tokens and construct the compendium for the tokens and journals based on the data it finds. This way we can consolidate tokens from different sources (Patreon and independent token packs) in the same module without annoying you with stuff you neither have or want. We already talked about it last week, but let's talk about it a bit more!
3. Token Packs
You don't have to worry about us abandoning Patreon or missing out on content! Our release model on Patreon will stay the same and we are even working on a way to increase production and maybe slip particularly faithful subscribers an extra Token per month - but this is still in the works. The changes to the module will enable us to release even more stuff on different platforms and providing you with a selection of extra content to choose from.
We have a plethora of amazing themed packs planned we are itching to release, but getting through a month of different echelons of a necromancer's skeleton army, a complete Ork Warhost or a bunch of City Guards from different cultural settings is dreadful for those Patrons who are not interested.
So we will release those packs as optional content for you to collect if the theme fancies you. This gives us the opportunity to add another layer to our goal of providing polished gameplay experiences with great looking models, complementing animations and interesting stat synergies for visually impressive and tactically challenging encounters! These packs will be an all around treat with bits and pieces of lore sprinkled in, ideas and guides on how to utilize the creatures unique strengths and synergies in encounters and maybe some magic items because although loot may not be everything, it certainly is nice to have. We are sparking with ideas and really look forward on pumping out Token packs!
He is not alone down there...
This week's poll gives you the opportunity to let us know what level of difficulty you operate on and what kind of creatures you'd need to deliver harrowing encounters for your players!
POLL: WHAT CHALLENGE RATING (CR) WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE MORE OF?
Feel free to comment and let us know some additional thoughts!

Love all the cool features and changes coming...all positive. Thanks for the update. As a supporter from day 1, I'm looking forward to bonus tokens and a discount on the other token packs you spoke of would be nice as well. Cheers!! :)
