The first thing that comes to my mind is simply to cover it with furniture :-) But some dirt around the legs of the radiator would be a nice addition, and it's a great idea to experiment with, using distance textures and shit :-)

Sorry if you mentioned this in another part, but what could be done to make the radiator not stick out so much? How could you make it more rooted on the floor (something like holes in the floor maybe)? It would probably be a giant hassle, especially on the floor-generated floor, but surely would improve the realism.
