Teens, The Most Depressed Generation. Smartphones & Politics To Blame

Blaming smartphones for depression is like blaming a drug for causing an addiction. Are things ‘inherently’ addictive, or do we already prone to addiction because there is already something lacking in our lives? The same reason one person could be compulsively using social media and another person doesn’t see the point and would rather do something else. Addiction is a way of filling a void, so even if the coping mechanism (internet/drugs) were removed from the addict’s life, the void still exists. That seems to be where the healing happens.
