Bad news first. Chapter 5 of Day 18 has not been coming together as I'd hoped. I've tried several different angles so far and haven't been happy with the results regardless. A lot of that I think is burnout more than anything I think. With that in mind, I'm going to give it a couple more attempts, I've got a plan on how to tackle it now which will hopefully work. Should that also fail however, I'll admit defeat and shift our workload towards other tasks while I focus on recovering from this burnout.
To a point, I've already made part of this shift, but a full shift would be to put the rest of Tai's route on pause for now and to make entirely different content for something fresh to work on where I can really stretch my legs and hopefully bounce back within no time at all. The most likely outcomes of this are that we move onto writing Diego's Tale right away and finishing that before returning for the finale of Tai's route, or that we tackle a full rewrite of Days 1 - 5 to aim for a much higher bar of quality to set a better first impression than we are right now.
With how our schedule is this month however, there isn't time to make such a shift as there wouldn't be enough time left to prepare the required artwork. With that in mind, I've begun work on some other tasks to ensure I have something tasty for you all next month.
Which brings us to the good news.
Above is the final prototype for our new Ui design, and as of today, I've begun implementing it. There's quite a few complicated steps ahead yet, in particular getting the character to appear in the window like that is easier said than done and I need to think long and hard (huehue like a benis) on how I'm going to tackle that. I'll also have to spent a TON of time going through every single line of existing content and giving Adrian expressions every time he speaks. Of course, the upshot of this is that you'll now be able to see that cute face of his every time he says something!
Time permitting, I'm hoping to update the UI game-wide all at once and ship it all together, however this all depends on how future writing attempts go, as well as how difficult getting the ingame UI working ends up being. So TBA on that one!
Anyway, I'll keep you all in the loop with what the next update is looking like as time goes along. It's sure going to be an interesting one, I can tell you that much!

Blame CurryCatz, it's his fault!

Take your time. Maybe work on something not tied to the main story line. I recall echo's smoke room doing a Christmas episode. Maybe do a Valentine date episode for fun.

burnouts are no joke, take your time to recover and switch it up a bit. Diego's Tale is something I think many people including me would definitely enjoy while you take a break from Tai's finale.

Take all the time you need dude. We are here because we love what you guys do. If you need a break or need to switch gears, do it. And did you have to make Roux so cute and sexy?

It's just a pain being so close and not being able to cross the finish line. But I'd also much rather take the time I need writing other things to get back to my best than release an underwhelming finale. It's all part of the creative process I suppose.

Eh, you do what you have to do. Trying to force yourself to get it done, just makes you so sick of something you never what to do it again. So if switching things up helps prevents that, then go for it since it's not like you never getting back to finishing Tai's story.
