Q: Have you been following the Yves Engler for NDP leader campaign in Canada? Do you have any thoughts on it?
A: No I don't really know anything about it. But last I checked the NDP were worse than the Greens in most countries so it sounds stupid.
Q: Is the US getting ready for war with Venezuela?
A: It's hard to tell what the hell Trump is doing or wants with a lot of the stuff he's doing. I think he may just be using Venezuela and drug trafficking as a domestic boogeyman, but I won't rule anything out.
Q: How do you balance disseminating important information about topics completely unknown in the Anglosphere against advocating for causes you believe in?
A: I don't think about this at all. I just make videos about whatever I feel like.
Q: I want to create a curriculum for myself to learn critical thinking, learning how to learn, rhetoric etc. I am kinda on the fence on what I want to do later (journalism? History? idk) but I want to first build a solid foundation. Any tips appreciated.
A: You should really try to take actual classes on this sort of thing. Even like a 'community college' sort of thing. I'm not going to suggest to anyone that they teach themselves basics from the ground up as that's probably not a good idea.
Q: What is your opinion on the “read Marxist theory” bit of the left. Are you a proponent of making Marxist Leninist theory an important part of being In the left? Do you think they are outdated and need supplements of other authors?
A: People treat theory like religious dogma that is universally relevant and that should always be referred to when a huge swathe of it is either actually not very insightful or useful, based on faulty information, hasn't held up to evidence, or is no longer very relevant out of the time it was written. People should learn much more about history & the present as it actually exists first and foremost rather than jumping straight in to 'reading theory' just for the sake of it.
Q: Are you planning to improve the production value?
A: No, higher production value does not mean more views and lower production value means I can make more content easier without any sacrifice in the actual quality of the part that matters.
Q: Another question I have is about how you view your target audience.
A: I don't have a target audience, I just make whatever I want.
Q: Is there a chance that the Spanish gouverment take a truly firm stance against Israel's actions ? Is there a chance that any European country take a truly firm stance against Israel ? If they did, would that have any impact on the policies of Germany/UK/USA/Canada regarding Israel ?
A: Highly unlikely especially with the recent BS Trump 'deal' giving all of them yet another excuse not to do anything. I don't think the government of any significant Western country is going to do anything. At most they do performative denouncements while still secretly sending weapons.
Q: What are the best books that you've read on the Israel-Palestine conflict? Thank you for all the effort you put into your channel.
A: Nothing particularly comes to mind. I'd say don't focus too much on books because the vast majority of work on any topic actually comes through shorter articles. Most history books are just compilations of work the author had already written about in articles.
Q: Are people in other countries outside of the U.S.A. less propagandized, less stupid about politics (or in general), and less rude/entitled/cruel? Are Americans exceptional (ly propagandized/servile)?
A: Americans are not especially propagandised, they are just especially incentivised not to do as much. They believe what they believe cus it's usually pretty good for them to do so, relative to most of the rest of the world.
Q: Is there a motto for the way you think (specifically about what matters and what does not in politics)?
A: No, I just engage in basic materialism (dealing with things as they actually exist first and foremost) rather than beginning from a certain ideology or theory and trying to make everything fit in with it post hoc.
Q: what do you think an israeli citizen who is genuine about their anti-zionism should do?
A: Join a Palestinian resistance group. Become a spy. Or just leave. Israelis simply do not do these things AT ALL which is completely unique in the history of settler colonialism. There has never been a more complicit general population.
Q: what countries (if any) do you think it's strategically recommended to emigrate from to improve your effectiveness at reaching any form of liberation for the global working class, or even the working class from your country of origin (helping others to help yourself)? How serious were you in telling Hasan to leave the US?
A: None. I told Hasan to leave because he's a streamer who can stream from anywhere and thus talk about the same stuff without worrying about the government, not because I was making a general recommendation to random people. Some random guy is not going to be any more useful anywhere else.
Q: Who killed Charlie Kirk, and why?
It's most likely how it seems, just some random gamer kid for some reason. But it is very weird how the Israelis keep trying to refute the conspiracies about them.
Q: What got you interested in the plight of Aboriginal people and colonialism to go and study it at a uni? Any specific books or people? Thanks!
A: It was just a natural thing to look into being from Australia. Nothing particularly interesting about it. Australian history is not exactly very engaging aside from it. Aboriginal Australians by Richard Broome is a good introductory book.
Q: Do you think any country has been solid in speaking up for Palestine on the global stage?
A: Only Yemen. No one else. The total lack of truly impactful action and even speech has been terrible.
Q: Is there anything you would add to that assessment of airline pilots being part of the labor aristocracy?
A: That's awfully specific, I don't know anything about airline pilots or their unions lol I dunno why you would think I do
Q: Is there anything you can speak more freely about on Patreon that you can’t on YouTube?
A: Nope not really. Most of these platforms have the same tos though some are worse than others (Like tiktok, which is now Israeli owned). YouTube is surprisingly more lenient than any other platform though which is pretty dire when you think about it.
