Betrayed by Blood
🕑 Added 2025-02-21 16:21:08 +0000 UTCOn a frigid Iowa morning in January of 2024, a woman arrived at her best friend’s home to pick her up for a coffee date. Almost immediately, there were signs that something was terribly wrong. Trusting her instincts, she entered the residence—only to be met with one of the most grisly and horrific scenes imaginable. The ensuing investigation proved to be a twisting road of violence, religion, and bizarre tangents—all leading back to the person who was supposed to be the victim’s most trusted caretaker…

This was one of the most well written, best narrated, all together best produced episodes I have ever heard. Thank you goes to the whole team for making this podcast what it is. Every single episode is a reminder of how undeniably good you are at what do - please never stop doing it. Also, big thanks to all of the friends, family members and other involved persons who agrees to do interviews and who continues to tell their loved ones' story. Jennifer seemed like an amazingly supportive, kind, likable and fun person.

I found the background noise distracting on this one.

What can be more horrific than being murdered by the son that you gave birth to?! I was impressed by the police’s professionalism and quick thinking to give Tyler the hasmat type of suit and to transport him to the hospital before being questioned by the authorities

What a horrific story. Thank you for sharing this story with us. I really appreciate that you and your team put so much effort into every episode. I appreciate knowing that you are doing your best. Without the comedic or political comments of so many podcasters. Thank you so much!

Terrible story. Echo looks identical to my youngest puppy too. This might be your best produced and most put together episode ever tho Michael. I felt like I was in the room with her friends. I listen to 50+ hours of podcasts a week and no one else brings the intensity and surreal feeling of reality that you bring. Thank you for showing Jennifer’s story

Wow! This is an incredibly crazy one; was Tyler ever diagnosed with any mental illness? I understand that Iowa courts initially deemed him incompetent, but later reevaluated him and found him competent to stand trial.
