I Was Almost a School Shooter

Before the days of Columbine, there weren’t many secure entrances or armed community services officers standing guard in American schools. In fact, it was relatively easy for a kid to bring a gun to school. Aaron had it all planned out. He knew exactly how he was going to get the weapon and in his mind, there was no turning back. But ultimately that is exactly what he did. We had a chance to speak with Aaron…and not from his prison cell, but instead on a Zoom call from the comfort of his own home.

This story actually made me cry. Mike sounds like an amazing guy with such compassion. Aaron is right, we never know who's life we could change just by being a good human being and friend. It definitely changes my perspective on how I look at people. It's so sad that Aaron had such a horrific childhood and there was no one that stepped in even when he went to social services himself. There are definitely flaws in the system and I love the fact that Aaron is helping children with the same issues. It also goes to show that just because you had a terrible childhood it doesn't mean you have to become a monster. This case takes away from horrific killers that use that excuse. We all have a chance to turn it into something good. Thank you Mike for a beautiful episode ♥️
