Bandigalz - Finalizing Designs
🕑 Added 2022-04-24 22:29:09 +0000 UTCTL:DR - Minor design changes, bandigalz becoming finalized, still cookin' in oven though, Story & Character personalities have been decided and new puns for the level names have been made. will update when I have something more solid. oh and 1HU (head unit) is 25cm.
The Full Brain Dump:
Tweaked some sizes with Tawna so she'd be standing at 175cm & Changed some minor gear details. Made Megumi a little more Azula like since her Gem will be the gem of Wrath, Changed coco's dungarees to a shirt and pants combo with the same larger belt and also sketched out a "Successful" version of Crash as a Cortex commando. The Ear tag may become a much smaller chip in the final design but it's basically a McGuffin that helps them gain access to the ruined cortex locations in the realm they've all found their selves in.
So far i think the designs are pushing the idea that they're all from alternate universes as well as different creators with different goals for their commandos (This is most noticeable with Megumi, who takes the inspiration from Ninja Cortex instead of a traditional lab assistant) I also wanted vary up their fur and eye colors a bit more, with crash, coco and soon crunch being the only ones with green eyes (Chartreuse, Green & Spring Green respectively) Since I'm building this around the idea that their worlds where more or less destroyed during the N.Tropy Events of crash 4, that the world the Tropy Pair avoided would come to be their new home, seeing as they don't really have worlds nor people to return to.
The islands they'll be located in will be the N.Fected Isles, referencing the Blight that has horribly mutated the plant life there, most notably the Wumpa. As of right now, the story will focus on Coco, Tawna, Ami, Megumi, Liz, Isabella and lastly Nayiba who will be standing in for the random Crash Boom Bang Ladies, with Nayiba being native to the N.Fected Isles & having served viscount pre-mojo mutation. Crash & Crunch would be present as well, but wouldn't have dedicated comics for them, since I plan on doing no more than 50 "levels". instead they'd play supporting rolls and i'd probably give them bonus expansion comics of their own.
I'm still writing the series "Bible" as it where, so a lot of this may change, HOWEVER I wanted to get down how the characters looked since I've more or less decided how each character would behave in specific situations and how they'll bounce off one another. With the series primarily being an expansion comic, I simply want to set up the adventure, have them gather the gems and learn about one another & the world, stop the blight and finish the series on a beach somewhere. I thought about having antagonists outside of the environment, like Cortex or Nina, but I'd rather see how this goes first before I go
I'd honestly be surprised if someone tried throwing lore and cannon at me but just incase i'll state that it goes without saying that these characters are not going to be nor are they to be like their original counterparts. I've worked on this for a really long time and it's looking like things are finally falling into place for production to actually get started so wanted to share my thoughts with the patrons. when I have something more concrete I'll make issue 0 which will more or less serve as the "Bible" of the series.
Sorry for the wall of text, just throwing out the details of the idea while it's on my mind. Y'all stay safe out there and remember to drink some water.
