It's just pure logic. They might hate him, but I agree that they would still try to save the people of Atlas also. It's a dirty way to get what he wants, but it's devastingly effective

How Ironwood thinks things work, i mean, if he destroy Mantle, Penny and the rest absolutely would't work with him... He really went crazy if he thinks it can work.

Tyrian and Mercury left for Vacuo a few episodes ago, so they weren’t there for the big boom. Hazel on the other hand was in the direct line of the blast so I think he’s gone for good.
