Shinki-sama process (Public)
🕑 Added 2023-03-04 21:08:15 +0000 UTCHello everyone! It's been almost 2 weeks since the last post and I wanted to say thanks to everyone for the 3000 followers on Twitter and the 1000 on Pixiv! Since Shinki-sama is the only reason why I draw, I decided to draw her for the occasion! Who would have thought!
Also, I noticed I do have Japanese subscribers now, so I'll add a Japanese translation as well, it's all from DeepL though since my Japanese is still too subpar...
みなさん、こんにちは！前回の投稿から約2週間が経ち、Twitterのフォロワーが3000人、Pixivのフォロワーが1000人になったので、皆さんに感謝の気持ちを伝えたいと思います! 神綺様は私が絵を描く唯一の理由なので、この機会に神綺様を描くことにしました! 誰が考えたんだ！？
また、日本人の購読者がいることに気づいたので、日本語の翻訳も追加します！私の日本語はまだ下手なので、すべてDeepLからですが...。
I wasn't too sure on what direction I wanted to take for this drawing, I only knew I wanted it to look "divine"! I thought about something like "Paradise Lost", since that looks so cool, but I don't actually support the theory that Shinki is a fallen angel. I might do that later at some point though, since the idea is cool regardless lol.
この絵の方向性はあまり決めていなくて、「神々しい」感じにしたい！ということだけは分かっていたんです。でも、神綺が堕天使であるという説を支持するわけではありません。でも、アイデアは関係なくかっこいいので、後で何かの機会にそうするかもしれません(笑)。

以下、2枚のスケッチで「こうだったらいいな」をご紹介します。
I liked both of them, but instead I want with my third approach. Here's the process. Basically, each step is what I had at the end of the day, I'll give a little comment for each of them too.
私はそのどちらも好きでしたが、代わりに私は3番目のアプローチで欲しいです。これがそのプロセスです。基本的に、各ステップは私が一日の終わりに持っていたもので、それぞれのステップにちょっとしたコメントも付けます。
Day 1:
On the first day I was still only looking for possible compositions and settings, so I haven't done much, just getting a vague idea of the pose and placement is all I wanted.
初日はまだ可能な構図や設定を探すだけだったので、あまり手をつけておらず、ポーズや配置を漠然と把握することだけが目的です。
Day 2:
There's barely any difference right? Well, I haven't done much work that day lol. It was just slight cleanup so I can get a better idea of how I'd like to approach my idea.
ほとんど差はないですよね？まあ、この日はあまり仕事をしていないんですけどね(笑)。自分のアイデアに近づくための、わずかなクリーンアップだったんです。
Day 3:
I hope FANBOX and Patreon won't ban me for this... Just continuing from what I've done since day 2. However, I've done so many changes on this day and I just couldn't get satisfied with the results, ultimately this is what came out. I got really mad at some point since most looked like weird fetish art, which led to me drawing her at a more neutral angle later on.
FANBOXとPatreonにBANされないといいんだけど...。2日目からやっていることの続きです。しかし、この日はいろいろと手を加えましたが、どうしても納得がいかず、最終的にこのような結果になりました。しかし、この日は何度も変更し、どうしても納得がいかず、最終的にこのような形にしました。この絵のほとんどが変なフェティッシュアートみたいで、とても腹が立ちました。
Day 4:
It's finally looking like something! This is the part where it comes all together. Not much to say except that I just throw paint blobs everywhere so I know what to do later on.
ようやくそれらしくなってきた！？ここからは、いよいよ本番です。特に言うことはないのですが、ペンキの塊をあちこちに投げつけて、後でどうすればいいかわかるようにしています。
Day 5:
Since drawing a setting like this was still very new to me I experimented around a bit. I added little details here and there and made shapes a little prettier, but not much had been achieved.
このような設定を描くのは初めてのことだったので、いろいろと試行錯誤してみました。あちこちにディテールを追加したり、形を少しきれいにしたりしましたが、まだあまり成果は出ていません。
Day 6:
I redrew her foot countless times, there was something bothering me about the legs that I didn't find until much, much later. That stayed a consistent problem of this drawing process really.
足については、何度も描き直しましたが、ずっとずっと後になってから気になることがありました。それは、このデッサン作業の一貫した問題点でした。
Day 7:
Continuation of day 6's struggle. I didn't achieve much.
6日目の奮闘の続き。あまり成果が出なかった。
Day 8:
Added more effects once again to give me more peace of mind that I'm doing something right. (Not good, but the effects are cool) Also more little fixes.
何か正しいことをしているという安心感を与えるために、もう一度エフェクトを追加しました。(良いとは言えないが、エフェクトはクールだ) また、さらに小さな修正も行った。
Day 9:
Just fixing and fixing and fixing all the little things. I also finally started going over to details, like the hair. However I wasn't satisfied with how it looked so I redid it the next day.
とにかく細かいところを直して、直して、直しまくりました。髪のような細部にもようやく手を入れ始めたんです。でも、納得がいかなかったので、次の日にやり直しました。
Day 10:
I went crazy on this day. In a good way. I think I worked for 7 hours fully concentrated, and the results really show! I don't know if other people think backgrounds like these look impressive, but whatever it may be, these are really simple and fast to make. If there's interest for it, I'll make a tutorial one of these days.
Also, while fun, the patterned white cloth of her dress is some true autopilot work. Sometimes I wish I could just draw frills on her since those are easier to me, but I want to stay true to the original. The patterns are really important you know! It's a different way to read Shinki's name after all.
この日、私は気が狂いそうになりました。いい意味で。7時間くらい集中して作業したんですが、その結果が如実に表れています。他の人がこのような背景を印象的に見えると思うかどうかはわかりませんが、いずれにせよ、これは本当にシンプルで素早く作ることができます。もし興味があれば、そのうちチュートリアルを作ろうと思っています。
あと、楽しいけど、ドレスの白い布の模様は、まさに自動操縦の仕事です。フリルの方が簡単なので、フリルだけ描けばいいのにと思うこともありますが、原作に忠実でありたいと思うんです。柄は本当に大事なんですよ。神綺の名前の読み方も違うしね。
Day 11 (Today!)
...And finished! My father told me her thighs were too fat and that's when I finally realized what was wrong with her legs. I reallly wanted to add more foreshortening but in the end it got awkward and I went back to drawing her at an almost neutral angle. I have realized that if I want to draw Shinki from a low angle, I need to pick a different setting because it becomes too fetishized otherwise, which is something I'd rather like to prevent. Either way, I believe this may be my greatest artwork to date! But it was also quite exhausting trying to find the proper shade and I'm still not sure if this one may be too dark... But whatever! I drew it for myself, I like it, and that's all that matters!
...For myself? Uh, I meant for you, thanks for all the followers again!
...そして完成! 父から「太ももが太い」と言われて、ようやく脚の悪いところに気がつきました。本当はもっと伏せ字にしたかったのですが、結局ぎこちなくなってしまい、ほぼニュートラルなアングルで描くことに戻りました。神綺をローアングルで描きたい場合は、別の設定を選ばないとフェティッシュになりすぎてしまうので、それは避けたいところだと気づきました。いずれにせよ、今までで一番素晴らしい作品になったと思っています。でも、この色合いを探すのも大変で、ちょっと暗すぎるかな...という気もします。でも、とにかく! 自分のために描いたし、気に入っている。

Afterword:
I wanted to start taking commissions again, but I'm still unsure about pricing and the procedure. I'd like to not change the prices from last time, but inflation is crazy over here. For example, if I sold my artworks for the same price as before, I could afford 3 meals for me and my brother OR buy 1 low class technology product. When I think about it like that, I feel barely motivated to start taking them, but I'd still like to draw for others. I get asked pretty often if I take commissions, but I don't want to charge people too much either. Money sucks! I say that but I use this platform to make money! What a hypocrite I am!
Also, I've been drawing a ton lately, haven't I? I never imagined I'd upload things for 5 weeks in a row. This is a sign I've gotten much better and faster! Woohoo!
またコミッションを受け始めたいと思ったのですが、価格設定や手続きについてまだよくわかりません。前回と価格を変えないようにしたいのですが、こっちのインフレは異常です。例えば、以前と同じ値段で作品を売った場合、僕と弟の食事3回分orロークラスの技術製品1個を買うことができる。そう考えると、ほとんどやる気が起きないんですけど、やっぱり人のために描きたいんですよね。よく「依頼を受けますか」と聞かれるんですが、あまり高額な依頼はしたくないんです。お金に困ってるんです。そう言いながら、このプラットフォームを使ってお金を稼いでいるんですよ。なんて偽善者なんでしょう。
あと、最近めっちゃ描いてるよね？まさか5週連続でアップするとは思いませんでした。これは、私がより良く、より速くなった証拠です。うひゃひゃひゃひゃ

Thanks for the nice comment! I am happy if I can motivate others! The first step is to try. If you just keep doing, it will eventually work out. And when you get past your weaknesses, you will start loving it!

Congratulations! Thank you for sharing this, it's really interesting to see the drawing process I have been extremely interested in art and learning to draw but I've always struggled with it and lose motivation so quicklyヽ(´ー｀)┌ I love seeing the process, it motivates me very much (*´▽｀*)
