What I'm Working On
🕑 Added 2023-09-04 16:06:13 +0000 UTCFirst of all, happy Labour Day to everyone! At least, it's a day off in Canada. I'm completely unsure about other parts of the world.
This week I'll be doing a rare editorial type of video where I try to break down the Modern Age into different parts. I was hoping to have Into The Murphyverse ready, but I don't think that script is quite ready yet. Not even close, by my standard. So, I polished off this script and I intend to make it the next video. The above picture is my tentative background. I'm still playing around with it, so I'm not sure if that'll be the final product or whether I'll use it as a thumbnail. Maybe both. I don't know.
Also in the works is a Steve Ditko piece. It started out as research for a Rorschach miniseries video, but then became something else. Basically, it's the only two incidents that I could find where Ditko spoke on the record about Mr. A. I'm probably the only one interested in the topic, but that hasn't stopped me from making videos in the past. Ha ha ha.
That's it for now. I am going to post a poll after this, so look for that too.

That’s what’s so great about this channel. I have no personal investment in Mr. A, but I sure love learning anything I can about comic book history. And your personal interest makes the information all the more exciting.

Oh also I'm pretty sure that Labour Day is a North American thing. Everybody else does May Day, which ironically is rooted in a labour massacre that occurred in the US.

I did a big research on Watchmen for a podcast with my friends called The Right Can't Read, and had to distill as much info on the philosophy and politics of the work, which naturally included Rorschach, and by extension, Ditko. So yes, I'm very much interested in what you found, since I had to gloss over my own research to keep my guest hosting duties from taking over the pod entirely lol

See, I find it fascinating too. I might disagree with an objective standard that is applicable to humanity or reality, but that doesn't mean I dismiss it outright, either. And, just seeing the influence on his career and how he sacrificed a LOT of work to maintain that principle is both admirable and a bit regrettable.

By all means, please do as many videos as you want on Ditko and his politics/philosophy and he how it was reflected in his work. Fascinating because it's so deeply inscrutable.
