Unless I'm mistaken, I believe Reece Shearsmith the crazy fishmonger that was in League of Gentlemen is the same guy from Max and Paddy who had the vasectomy and sang 'The first cut is the deepest' at the birthday party. That joke of Peter hiding in the box also reminded me of the first episode of Max and Paddy when they carried the gypsy out of the shopping mall in the stretcher.

When you've finished every series I really recommend you react to the outtakes, as the ones with Reece Sheersmith are brilliant. With regards to the song at the end, you were correct that it was Morrissey singing, as its on one of the Smiths albums.
