The League Of Gentlemen is the Winner of Wednesdays Spot

Michael Leighton's Karl Pilkington Animations

Hell yesssss!

Keith Pratt

When this came out, it was the most I'd laughed at a sit com since "Bottom".

Markos

Josh, at the end of this you should react to the film too :)

SP

I definitely second adding Psychoville to the list. I still need to get round to Inside No. 9 (but maybe I'll wait until it gets voted in)

Ferris Booyaa

YEEEESSSSSS!! Man, you are gonna love this. Extremely dark and funny.

Jay

So glad this finally won the poll. Also nice to know that if Josh enjoys this type of humour, there's still the brilliant Psychoville and Inside No. 9 to react to afterwards.

Alexander Bond

Dunno what would be offensive, except maybe Papa Lazaru, which is technically blackface, but Josh has already seen clips of it and realises it's a silly outrageous character and not an ethnic stereotype. I don't know why anyone would be getting on their high horse.

Intera UK

Looking forward to this - no doubt it will offend (however indirectly) a few people who comment here but that's how it goes.

Ben

You're my wife now!

Mr Snrub

Great show!

Ben

Have to say from what I’ve seen of this not a massive fan, but always prepared to give something a go so will definitely try and watch and see if I can get in to it 👍

Markos

wooohoo ..this is a piece of art.. can't wait !

finally!!, league and red dwarf to watch :)

Alexander Bond

Been waiting half a year for this to win. Now I have 2 shows a week to watch. Thanks to all the voters.

SP

SPOILER: I love the floral arrangement "BASTARD" in the hearse outside the church.

Robert Donohoe

Great show, really enjoy it. While it's not a sketch show there is a sketch show vibe. Some great shows on the list I hope we get to soon. Not sure why taskmaster is so popular. It's fun and all, but its a game show/panel show.

Pkirby422

Amazing!

Ash Jeffries

Absolutely brilliant news! This is a tremendous series and a perfect example of Briitish dark humour. Its first and second series are more sketch driven but there is a narrative arc and it's far more cerebral than Little Britain - a class apart in my opinion. I must've seen in at least twelvety times! 🙏

Manly Stump

And on Wednesday too! I'll be wearing my weft-restoring shoes!

Claire Prowse

Oh wow yes! Totally forgot about that fabulous series!!!

Claire Prowse

Woohooooo fantastic!!!

Zoë

Can’t wait for this!! Worthy winner

Gary Tamblyn

I’m the same, the little bits that I’ve seen don’t work for me, same with Black Books and Spaced.... I must just be getting old. But I’ll give it a fair chance. Derek won me over, so I’m happy to be wrong. 🙂

Richard M

No I don't really like it either but I can see it is a quality show, whereas there have been some winners where I really couldn't say the same. Nice for the people who are fans, hope they enjoy it.

Dave Barratt

Very dark and filmed local to me, I remember being out with my mates in my teens when they were filming on the outside of one of the churches in our village. Was mad when we saw it in the show a few months later, and driving through some of the main spots still gets me.

PoPaDoMZz

Never seen it but judging by the votes its good 😀 saying that I tried to watch black books and not my sense of humour. Fingers crossed 🤞

Ben

Wanted this to win so badly ... when it was against Gavin & Stacy ... but I love Taskmaster so much! so it's bittersweet. Anyway I should be happy, for the first time in ages there is a show I will definitely be watching back on the line-up, and this months movies are mostly excellent. Although Josh, I really hope you take into account the shows that get second/third place, and bring Taskmaster back for future polls!

BR90s

Really not a fan of it 😭

Chris H

Good stuff, one of my favourites. Psychoville would be great to see at some point as well.

Joe Gardiner

Welcome to Royston Vasey, Josh - you'll never leave! Really glad this won, it's such a unique comedy with so many great characters. Roll on Wednesday!

Matthew

Watched the live show a few years ago after the specials and wow they are so good live !

Excellent. I am celebrating this with a glass of Aqua Vitae.

Sam Reeves

Finally!! One of the best British comedies ever, for my money.

BelladonnicHazeyJaneII

Yes! :) been looking forward to it winning. So many great characters and lines. This is going to be great. I hope Inside no. 9 gets voted in one day as well.

Joel Oates

Yes! Been waiting ages for this to come around. This show leaves a weird lasting effect on you.

JokerDanny

Creepy but funny show can't wait. Also can Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps be added to future polls, it was a British sitcom about a group of 20 something year olds and ran for 9 series.
