This episode has my favourite "hidden" Phoenix Nights joke of all time: when Jerry is singing Brimful of Asha by Cornershop in his free & easy show, he mangles the first line (originally "there's dancing behind movie scenes, behind those movie scenes - savi raani.") Savi raani is Hindi for "our queen", because the song is a tribute to a great Indian actress, but poor clueless Jerry sings "savi randi", which - rather unfortunately - means "our prostitute." It's a fantastic show that can throw a gag like that in without explanation, knowing that only a small minority of people will get it, and it'll be a treat just for them.

I saw you were confused by Brian saying that he'd "be in the bogs snorting cess" then Lez corrects him by saying "you mean Charlie" and Brian says he's "never met the man". Charlie is slang for cocaine

I used to go to a pub quiz every Tuesday so the moment when you have to guess the song is utterly histerical to me! Without fail, a pub full of drunk people will nine times out of ten either hum or sing the next line which gives away the song title! lol

After seeing bits of this show I thought I wasn't going to like it, but so far it's been great. Would really love to see Max and Paddy on the poll though, it's more goofy and think it would be right up your street!
