I think he was definitely on a wind up!

One thing I've wondered for years....Was Rimmer really a fan of the 'Om' song, or was he just being sarcastic? Obviously he didn't want Lister to get credit for the tension sheet, so he would want young Lister to keep following his dream and ignore the tension sheet. But at the same time, Rimmer's musical tastes have been shown to be incredibly bizzare and eclectic. Reggie Wilson obviously, Morris Dancing, Campfire songs, Christian Rock music and others...It is not beyond the realms of possibility that he might actually be into the Om song. Food for thought.

This episode was far too crypto-fascist.

Awesome bud, Red Dwarf is great =] I will add that show to my list I don't remember hearing about that yet.

After Work Reactions

Awesome bud will check those out for sure.

After Work Reactions

That is surprising, it seems pretty popular. I will have to check around on Ebay for a few things =]

After Work Reactions

Z is for Zed

I can only remember one of the Dave episodes, but it's a good one.

Has anyone talked about the availability of Red Dwarf episodes from Dave yet, Josh? The BBC gave up on the show in the late 90's, and was picked up by the Dave Channel shortly afterwards. Due to this, streaming services like Netflix generally only have the licence for the BBC episodes internationally, so you might have to do some digging to find the rest. The Dave episodes start off very ropey, but have since picked up in quality, so it's worth finding them.

I love time/time travel stories too.... I was actually going to recommend some on the last poll... twelve monkeys (movie) is one of my favs.... if you haven’t seen predestination then I recommend (it’s a mind fk) lol

mwdoom

Yeah the lack of RD merch is annoying... there are the odd pieces here and there... mainly the corgi models of the ships and a scutter... strange as I’m sure they would have made a killing over the years 🤷‍♂️

There were definitely bobbleheads/headknockers, around circa 2005. I know for sure there is a 'Fearless Lister' complete with baseball bat and polymorph. I've seen it, but I don't know where you'd get it. You'd have to try Etsy/ E Bay or something.

Hannah

"I'M ALIVEEE!!!!" haha. always got me, that bit.

Adam C Turek

At best i'm sure there are a bunch of T Shirts you can get, but some will probably have references on them you won't get yet. That was Craig Charles real Brother playing his younger self

Ben Marshall

Another random fact: the 2 guys in young Lister’s band (playing the “Om” song) were in a death metal band called Napalm Death and 2 of the members lived on the same estate where I grew up in Birmingham. They were good guys actually :)

Ben Marshall

Yes you’re correct, they did the “Cash” song I think.

JimmyMcBunk

Hi Josh, do you have the thin blue line on your list of sitcoms? Has Rowan Atkinson as a police officer in a family friendly comedy. Worth a watch.

Paul Bibby

your deffo hooked now Josh :). really glad you like it

Ryan Lynch

Kryten at the 14:11 mark is how I will react when they open up again...

Hannah

Don't know about toys but I like these: https://www.amazon.co.uk/JLB-Print-Jupiter-Corporation-Premium/dp/B07CSRV2SL/ref=sr_1_13?dchild=1&keywords=red+dwarf+merchandise&qid=1615330024&sr=8-13

U need to get a Mr flibble toy it will become clear later on 😊

ALW

A lot of the official merch is expensive and in short supply, so honestly unless you're feeling flush, I'd recommend Etsy. I've got lots of nice Red Dwarf stuff from sellers there.

I was actually looking at red dwarf merchandise today on ebay funnily enough, you might need to go to the UK site I'm not sure if it would be popular elsewhere

Kieran B

I believe Craig Charles’ real band did the music for this episode but I could be remembering that incorrectly. Yeah the merch is a bit hit and miss, but there’s stuff out there
