Dave P

I seen a doc on uk prisons and app nonce is an acronym in prison, it would be written outside cells of sexual offenders and stood for something like Not On Normal Courtyard Exercise as they would generaly be attacked as the lowest of the low

Dave Jones

lol looking up the word "nonce" that could get awkward

After Work Reactions

Thats awesome bud I will have to check it out!

Tom Lin

clinton baptiste the psychic has a podcast which is rather funny

Trev

The actor who played Kenny taught Spanish classes in school.

After Work Reactions

LOL I dont think that was what he was hoping for.

After Work Reactions

Thanks bud!

After Work Reactions

Thanks bud!

After Work Reactions

LOL that was great =]

Z is for Zed

When the guy was asked if he could translate into Mexican, I only picked up one word - perro. That's enough to suggest that the translation might not have been quite what Mr. Lard hoped...

slashdisco

Bye! You were rude and self-righteous anyway.

Ben

SAS means Super Army Soldiers!

Jon Johnson

Nonce - Sexually attracted to kids (i know, fucked up, but this was 2001) SAS - Special Air Service - an elite special forces, kind of like Navy Seals

james

My favorite joke in this episode is when you hear Max ordering the divers watch and say ‘I can swim’

Kieran B

Best episode of that Peter Kay Thing for me, brilliant

Ian Webster

"I'm very friendly with the SAS" "But y'see, yer not, Kenny!" I fucking love that line. So glad you're watching this show, it has be in stitches. I remember this being THE sitcom when I was at college in '03/'04. Oh, Josh, there's actually a 'That Peter Kay Thing' episode called Eyes Down which is a prequel to this. I think you've seen 1 part of an episode but I can't remember which one. Anyway, Keith Lard is in one of them, too. A few of the same jokes but there's some belters. "What do you do in a chip pan fire?" "Put water on it?" "WATER?! Worst case scenario! Put water on it, WOOF! the whole house goes up" "What and the whole house goes up?" "Woof!"

After Work Reactions

LOL

After Work Reactions

Thanks bud!

After Work Reactions

Yooo that's the word lol thanks for taking the time to explain.

After Work Reactions

Thanks I was just asking Fred for something to check out that includes them . I haven't played Call of Duty in so long , I think the last one I played was Modern Warfare 1 on 360 . I don't remember anything from that game lol. If they were mention in the 360 version I missed it for sure.

After Work Reactions

That's awesome

After Work Reactions

Dude that's right I don't know how that slip my mind while watching that scene lol. Yeah I forgot about the super army soldier bit lol

After Work Reactions

Thanks bud

Rob Thompson

Hey Josh. If you want to know more about the SAS, I would suggest either playing the video/computer game, Call Of Duty Modern Warfare (1), checking out the SAS Iranian Embassy Siege Documentary, Operation Nimrod (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4azM1DKqFI8), or watching the underappreciated 1980s movie 'Who Dares Wins'.

Logan Jukes

"I'm getting the word... nonce" hahaha.

Tony Smyth

This patron isn’t supporting any creators at the moment

Chris H

To be fair I know people in the UK who wouldn't have known who the SAS were until Who Dares Wins was on. I'm pretty sure a lot of people in the UK wouldn't know who the Navy Seals are either.

PunchyPariah

Came here to say the same. Brilliant podcast.

King Bloo

The actor who played Clinton Baptiste currently does occasional live shows around the UK in character as the psychic performing a night of bogus seances & dodgy mind reading as he did in tonights episode.

Steve King

Aren't the SAS equivalent of Delta Force? Think the SEALs maybe be part of DF but not too clued up on my military knowledge only that is was Delta Force that were based on the SAS

Steve King

"Channel 4 and Peter Kay received a very serious complaint from a local Bolton fire inspector by the name of Keith Laird who had had his name tarnished by Kay's character. Channel 4 and Peter Kay split £10,000 between Laird's family and the Fire Service Benevolent Fund as an apology for any damage caused." LOL

James Abernethy

I’m from Bolton where this is based and I don’t think you need to be English to get the jokes. It just may seem funnier to us as it’s relatable and feels like an exaggerated version of what the classics clubs in the UK used to be like

James Abernethy

If you go back to the Extras episode with Ross Kemp he tells Ricky Gervais the SAS stands for super army soldiers 😂. Also Brian is being i cotta me around Ravin because of the rumour he killed his ex

Fred bates

Josh you are a great guy and I love this channel but I cannot believe that you don't know who the SAS are. Thay are the 1st and most elite special forces in the world. It stands for special air service their job is to get parachuted in behind enemy lines and take out Assets. They are like the navy seals but with even better training.

Kevin Liversage

SAS are basically the elite of special forces

Steve Small

Hey Josh, a nonce is a paedophile, and SAS is the Special Air Service. They are a special forces unit similar to (but of course better than 😉) the Navy Seals.

Mikey C

that part that you paused on your final thoughts is an apology from Channel 4 and peter kay as there was an actual fire safety man from that area called Keith Lard!

Fiona Gilgunn

Clinton Baptiste the psychic does a really funny podcast, you should check it out.

Daryl

Dang you beat me to it! 🤣

James Aston

I thought it as 'Super Army Soldiers'?!

Kyle Parsons

Definitely 'nonce' 👌🏻😂 and 'bluey' means porn, as in a 'blue movie'
