Spoiler Free: This movie was random, goofy, slapstick, and hilarious. I felt the same way about the Holy Grail. I know people will ask me which one I like more and that's a hard choice. I will make a lot of enemies today lol but I will go with Life of Brian. If Life of Brian was a 10 The Holy Grail would be a 9.90 if you know what I mean. They really aren't that far off from each other in regards to story and comedy quality.
Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!! Spoiler Alert !!!!
There's so much to unpack when it comes to this movie. I didn't take the time to write a proper review for The Holy Grail I apologize in advance for that lol. Let's talk about the space ship scene first WTF was that lmao. That was so pointless and I loved it because it was pointless. The transgender conversation was fantastic and I loved how they wrapped back around to it with the statement "a little ego trip from the feminist " Her saying "what " and him apologizing for the statement showing though they disagreed in the beginning that he now accepts her identifying as a woman. Out of curiosity, I looked it up to see if that's what others got out of the scene nope lol. There are people upset about it so maybe the way interpreted the bit is wrong. I still enjoyed it either way. Just seemed as though the message was I don't have to understand your decision in order to respect you and accept it. The guy playing the mom made the worst looking woman, I loved it. I love how fast Brian accidentally started a religion and with minutes they were already arguing about the interpretation. Of course, it should go without saying the Biggus Dickus and the Stoning scenes are amongst my favorites. There really is too much to unpack with this movie so to prevent me from typing 30 pages lets just say I really enjoyed this movie and it has a lot of rewatch value. Hell, I laughed harder the second time watching the Biggus Dickus knowing the soldiers were trying to hold their laugh in for real. Well, at least that's what I was told in the comments lol. Hell, I was trying to hold my laugh to prevent a laughing fit ending in a headache lol and me missing the jokes from the next scene.
Thanks for watching folks !!! Hopefully, you all are happy, safe, and healthy !!
As always I would love to read your comments below

That is awesome i like when directors do that as well.

I love how they had a small circle of actors who would turn up in lots of films with them. The guy who was going to be stoned (Matthias, Son of Deuteronomy of Gath) is the historian who gets killed in Holy Grail

Thanks bud, I really loved it =] I will most likely be watching the others as well as everyone has asked me to watch it =]

I knew you would like this and piss yourself laughing at certain scenes. You have watched the best of Monty pythons movies, the others are average at best and a lot of the flying circus stuff is seriously random with the odd great sketch.

to think this film was banned in some states of the USA when it was released.Upsetting the bible bashers,It was never about Jesus it was about the stupidity of religion
Daniel Davies
1:09:18, There’s George Harrison making a cameo.
Daniel Davies
All because George just wanted to see it.
Christopher Horner
They refused to show the film in Norway. In Sweden they promoted the film with the tagline "So funny, it was banned in Norway"

Really enjoyed this. It's my first time seeing the film in full. Thanks man.

What a strange question to be asking...Jesus wasn't in this movie. Nobody ever even mentioned him. It's about a bloke called Brian. The clue is in the title.

Oh wow interesting thanks for the info bud =]

A nice piece of trivia I like about Life of Brian, is the production company that was originally about to finance the film backed out just a few days before filming was due to start. They was worried about the subject matter potentially being too controversial to make money. George Harrison , of The Beatles, heard about it and was a massive fan of Monty Python and ended up setting up a production company and funded the full movies budget of 4 million. So if it wasn't for him he may not have happened. The Python team even used old props and costumes that an Italian director left behind there whilst he made a series about Jesus, to save money

man its my first time watching this gem saw the holy grail for the first time with you too

Please watch some of the fallout on Youtube. There's at least one debate about the film there. I've always preferred this to the Holy Grail, but it's likely due to seeing this one first (and it annoying a lot of people). Thanks dude.

Really enjoyed watching the film again with your reaction Josh, lad. Would be interesting to see what you make of Flying Circus. That's the sketch show that started off the whole Monty Python thing. It was on BBC2 in about 1969. My Dad used to come home from the pub to watch it when he was a young man. A lot of it really holds up but obviously it can be hit and miss. When it hits it's incredible though.

Nah bro/sis - he was sober the whole time. Holy Grail he was wasted start to finish. On this one he was sober. Not only that, because he was a qualified medical doctor, he was actually treating people for little injuries and illnesses while on set; in between shoots.
Tony Smyth
Best movie ever. Best reaction so far.
Glen Ford
interesting fact- When HMS Sheffield was bombed in the Falklands war, apparently the surviving crew all broke out singing "always look on the bright side of life" while awaiting rescue. living up to that ideal of British stoicism in adverse situations ( an ideal which gets lampooned quite hard in the final python film "the meaning of life") great reaction as always man
Kevin Redshaw
I had a Latin teacher just like that
Claire Prowse
The best monty python film imo. A real pleasure to watch it again with your fabulous reaction! 🤣thought you were gonna pass out when biggus dickus came up again!! 😂You just don't get films like this made anymore......☹

awesome t-shirt! , love this film :)

I don't think it is that close tbh. Life of Brian is a cut above.
Tony Smyth
Hey Josh, you accidentally found the Holy Grail, you lucky, lucky. lucky bastard.
