Hey Josh, just a quick one after reading your post (haven't watched the reaction yet). It may have been a typo, but you called Del "Dale". Del is a shortened form of Derek in the UK. His Nickname is Del Boy.

Unions over here are so random. Like some grocery stores can have them. Although I feel like that is not so common anymore because many of the private owned grocery stores are gone now due to Walmart.

That's good. Most companies over here do have it in their policies they can fire you at any time for any reason, which is horrible and opens the door for harassment when someone doesn't like you.

I went to London in the very early 90s. I took the ferry to Holyhead, the coach to the train station, the train to Victoria Station and then I got collected by a bloke on motorbike wearing a helmet who turned out to be me brother. I was in a trance listening to Kraftwerk at the time but Elephant & Castle rings a lot of bells in my head. The N53 is the funniest bus I was ever allowed onto. I used to get off on the Old Kent Road. Happy daze.

I feel like there would be a lot of cultural stuff you wouldn't get, like Elephant and Castle. This is a very London-centric episode, literally as they try to show punters around the lesser known parts. I hope you understand enough to enjoy the episode. Only Fools just gets better and better

Unions aren't as commonplace over here as in the US. Teachers, medics and transport workers have unions but the average office/shop worker isnt usually a union member

There’s certainly far greater employment rights in the U.K. than the US, you can’t just lose your job any moment - especially for being in a Union. Personally I’ve only been part of an internal Union for one company. They were always helpful and arbitrated any disciplinarians or would give support if you needed it. It was a registered union but there were no fees and almost everybody in the company - at least in my part of it which was thousands of people, was a member.
