As I replied above, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE that these can be proxies for all the various interpretations of Kobolds over the years, lizard like, dog like, goat like even goblinoid to an extent! I also adore how adaptable the pin up is! It could easily be a tribal Tiefling too!!! Great work AG! As always, I let out a sigh of disappointment when the kobolds won; “yay, another addition to the overflow of kobolds on the market”. But these are brilliant and I’ve been proved wrong again!

1st ed Kobolds only had a text description, where they were described as ‘lizardy’ and tiny with ‘dog-like’ screams. The first time they were depicted was in the first Monstrous Manual, so 2nd ed, where they were illustrated as little dog people. The common understanding is the illustrator forgot about the lizardy part and remembered the dog-like part of the original description when formulating their imagery. Since then, they’ve even been illustrated as goat-like and goblinoid. So really, any of the above descriptions are canon as they’ve all been shown as such in official DnD lore. Therefore, AG’s representations are the most ‘accurate’ I’ve seen of a kobold race! (I’m only new to DnD in grand scheme of things, but HOLY HECK I love a good lore dive!)

These figures look fantastic! However these are definitely not kobolds. Kobolds are dogmen. These are nothing like that. They look like another lot of lizardmen. Great figures but you should call them something else.

They look really good! I’d have loved the pinup to have a tail, or more kobold-like feet, instead of being basically a human body with a weird dragon head stuck on it, but after reading the bit of lore it makes more sense. It’s more of a personal preference. Either way, gorgeous work as always, and looking forward to the release <3
