I don't think so, it sounds to me like the treasure can somehow break him out of the loop and then maybe kill him or something based on that tomb spirit (I'm assuming so because it was said he wasn't a will left behind)... I wouldn't be surprised if he decided to leave this behind so that if he doesn't get to the 13th realm it's a last resort to come back and maybe reincarnate or something to give himself another chance.
