I agree with everything you said except Finn was his step son, I'm just clarifying I'm sorry (I don't mean anything by it) it's just me, he fought cancer once not twice he had a heart attack but YES Burt is an extremely fantastic father!

the fact that not only lost his wife and son but almost lost kurt too AND fought cancer twice and remained such a kind and caring person. he also helped finn develop into the character we love and he deserves all the appreciation he gets for being the best dad on the show π₯Ί

I just love Burt, he is the best dad. And the original song Colourblind by Mercedes is the best song of the episode.
