Yay! More Who! Cybermen terrify the heck out of me. Mainly because they used to be normal people. The idea of something like that happening is truly scary to me.

It depends how it's interpreted,I suppose. With the arrival of Mondas (their home world),the Doctor became very weak to the point of unconsciousness.

The cybermen didn't trigger the first doctors regeneration did they? Pretty sure he just regenerated cos "his body was wearing thin". The cybermen didn't do anything to him.

The Cybermen are another iconic enemy from the Classic series. First appearing in 1966,they rivalled the Daleks as 'most frequently appearing baddy'. The Doctor has a long-standing hatred of them because they were instrumental in killing his first incarnation, and therefore triggering his first regeneration. This story is littered with references to the past (International Electromatics,for example,was from a Cyberman story in the Second Doctor's era) in order to please the old-school fans,while in no way being intrusive to new fans - a good thing to pull off, imo. I like this story a good deal. The useful thing about 'parallel universe' tales is that you can do all sorts of dramatic stuff to the alternate characters,which you couldn't possibly do to their 'real' ones (unless you deliberately wanted to make your audience angry!)
