He spends much of his time hiking through mountain trails, enjoying the freedom of nature. The stillness of the forest offers him a sense of peace, gently soothing the fatigue left behind by years of military life.
In the evenings, he’s usually found sitting alone in the corner of his regular bar, quietly sipping a glass of whiskey. Even the other regulars know not to disturb him. There’s something lonely in the way he stares into his drink or gazes blankly into the distance—an unspoken solitude that lingers in his presence.
Though his exterior seems tough and distant, deep down, Richard longs for connection. Yet he’s never been good with words, especially when it comes to the men he finds himself drawn to. Speaking to them sober feels impossible, so he leans on alcohol for the courage to try.
Behind the hardened shell is a man awkwardly and cautiously searching—for just one love, just one person who might truly understand him.
Beyond that heavy silence is a man who quietly, desperately hopes for someone’s warm and genuine love. That man is Richard.
