Yeah, the one and only mythical successor to the Lexichi V4 and by it's very creator. Much like the early days, the leap from the v1 to the v2 was massive, completely changing the whole body to be that of my own design, fitting human proportions with the little skill I had at the time and then again with the v3 to the v4, totally changing up the model to fit multiple limbs on one model for easy body modifications.
Now that same leap is being made again, except this time from the V4 to the V5
This time the goal is to double the content the V4 had all while bringing it up to my current abilities and providing multiple textures, clothes and heads to bring even more customization.
It looks so different!
Yup and by design, Why make another variation of the V4? Many exist already and even when I made the V4 I already had my sights set on creating something new with my little lexichi thing., but my own skill in modelling was not up to what I needed to make it great.
Yes, it might not be what people want or expect. But the goal was to create something new not something you already have.
Price!?
Yes, This model has already taken 300 hours to make to even get this far, I for one can not justify making something like that free. Perhaps someday in the future I'll warm up to the idea, however for now the V5 will be and always be a $10 patreon pledge. Yes, this project is massive, probably far too ambitious, but that really hasn't stopped me before. But this whole project will take far too long to do in one go. So I'm splitting it up.
To provide some content for people to chew on while I work on other stuff, before coming back to continue to the next stage.
I'm releasing the V5 in stages, this is the first of what I aim to be three in total.
With this first iteration you'll be getting the first set of limb variants, and just the very basics of a complete character that you can begin to work with and the start of a collection of textures that you can easily edit with both substance painter files and PSD files.
The second will have it's goal to be 1 to 1 with the original v4, providing the same amount of content with of course, much higher quality assets, the same goes for shape keys.
With reference to the first beta this will mean, the last set of limbs (Those being the v3 legs and the pomfers)
2 sets of hair, Close to the original amount of shape keys, animations and emotes for the unity file, to go along with vrchat and also to fit with avatar 3.0, Cat ears, Kangaroo tail and full body modelled fur that has shape keys to change which parts of the body have fur.
The third and last stage will be to add entirely new content I have planned for the v5, namely 2 sets of new limbs and 2 new heads. along with clothes and easily editable textures to go along with them and lastly the goal of roughly 100 shape keys dedicated to changing the overall shape of the body, like for example, adding muscle mass, adding fatty tissue or just making the model hyper feminine.
After that and an actual list of things I want to do are complete, I will deem the V5 finished and will move onto new projects with little intention to keep working on it past that point unless it benefits me to do so. I simply can't work on one project forever.
Regardless I hope this model finds it's home with people that want to make amazing things with it. It straight gives me a reason to keep going. so I for all that it's worth. Really hope you like the V5 and the direction it is heading.
Oh yeah also you're free to do commissions with it so long as both parties are pledged.
