Buck trying to find Christoper in this episode was gut-wrenching. I have no idea how I made it through. Plus, him calling Maddie and asking her how he was supposed to tell his best friend he lost his child was heart breaking. This was Buck's episode. My god. And, through all this, I forgot that Buck wasn't really 100%. It was not fun to see him collapse when he finally saw Eddie and Christopher together again.
Apparently, all I wanna talk about is Buck right now, because I was sort of dreading how his and Eddie's relationship was gonna be after this and then Eddie just show up and was all, 'here's Christopher.' Buck's face when Eddie was telling about the stuff he brought for Christopher. Ugh. Seriously. Buck broke me in this episode.
And let's not forget Athena who had to amputate a fire captain's arm. This episode was a doozy, you guys. But so, so good.
Don't tell me, but I really hope Buck won (or was at least nominated) for an Emmy of some kind for this episode.

Totally understandable. I don't know how anything could top this. Right? I was so nervous, but happily surprised when Eddie was all like, 'you did the best you could.' I love this friendship, not only between Buck and Eddie, but Buck and Christopher. Ugh. That's sad. I've watched so many shows that are amazing over the years where no one got nominated for anything. I guess this just get added to the list. Sad.

these episodes always get me! this is why the tsunami arc can’t be topped for me and most people. it’s easily the best disaster arc on the show. i remember worrying about eddie’s reaction too and then being so pleasantly shocked by that final scene. he would have had every right to feel however he felt but he knew it was a natural disaster and buck did the best he could to save chris. “buck, there’s nobody in this world i trust with my son more than you” 😭 one of my all time favorite moments and sadly no, i don’t think anyone has been nominated for an emmy for this show which is a crime because they’re all so good
