Yes I totally agree. Really Brooke's jokes about Peyton's mothers are difficult to hear and they annoyed me far more than this sex tape excuse for drama.

I feel bad for everyone but Lucas. Lucas will live lol. But I do feel bad for Nathan and Brooke because both of them have done a lot of internal work to become better people and both have colorful pasts that they regret and it probably would have been best if this was buried forever. I honestly think that both Nathan and Brooke blocked this memory out of their minds for a long time. I don't think it was a malicious thing where they kept it from Peyton, Haley etc on purpose. I just think they probably felt a measure of shame for this event and wanted to forget as promptly as possible which they then did forget it. I feel bad for Haley because the whole situation sucks and the way she found out would really hurt. Peyton I feel bad for because as Haley said... this may have happened years ago but she's just finding out about it now so it feels like a fresh wound. I agree about Nathan and Haley's plotline being so funny. I actually lowkey love this episode because of Naley. Every time they are onscreen it is just perfection! Without them the episode would suck but they just bring the much needed comedy.

You hit the nail right on the head Dana when you said that this storyline was nothing more than contrived drama. And contrived drama for a show like this that doesn't need to manufacture unnecessary drama just for the sake of it.... equals really lazy writing, and that's what we have here. Which is why this storyline was hated by most, including the actors who at this point were really protective over their characters and didn't understand the point either of trying to muddy everything up just for the sake of shock value. I actually think not only was it the worst arc of S4, but it was also the worst storyline of the entire high school years. There were plenty of other things they could have come up with to further move along the Brooke and Peyton drama besides this crap. Especially since what they were going for ended up backfiring anyways, lol!!! The one positive was that Paul (Dan Scott) directed it, and hormonal Haley saved the day, hehe. I actually wish it lasted longer to tell you the truth, lol. Joy and James were a riot together in these scenes and really brought the comedy in a pathetic storyline that needed it. And if I may defend Haley for a minute...it wasn't so much that she was upset about Nathan's colorful past, it was more along the lines of being blindsided yet again by said past that keeps getting thrown in her face, only this time it was on tape for the entire senior class to see. That coupled with everything that she's already been through this season at the hands of Nathan not being honest and truthful with her, would have anybody feeling hurt, devastated, and betrayed. Haley was about the only person that I could sympathize with in this episode. And no....this wasn't the midseason finale. That was actually back in episode 4x10 which was the aftermath of the Daunte accident where Lucas sees Keith in his dreams. We are 2/3 of the way done with this season, as S4 only has 21 episodes in it....so we only have 6 more to go this season, which is another puzzling decision at this point in time. To muddy the waters with this whole sex-tape fiasco as their senior year is winding down, will always be a head scratcher to me!!!

I think the Peyton and Brook stuff needed to be hashed out, Lucas aside it’s sucks to grow distant from your best friend, especially the one person who has been literally each others rock growing up! Nether of them had parents in some aspect and the stuff that Peyton has gone through “the car ride to the State game, when Brook made out fun of her moms” it all collects and dose get better until it’s unpacked! 🤷🏼‍♂️

Haley's reactions in this episode don't really bother me because it seems so clear that the interactions between Nathan and Haley are played for comedy. But if I may I would like to defend Haley on a more serious level. This poor girl has been through a lot this year like eveyone else has but unlike the others Haley is also pregnant and hormonal. On top of that... it wasn't just that Nathan had sex with Brooke... it's that she found out by having to watch a sex tape in front of all her peers and classmates. I think I would be pretty upset to if I were in her position. I would like to say that I am always on Nathan's side as well. What he did with Brooke was a long time ago and he's totally changed. I do like how he dealt with Haley though. I think he was very patient and it only made me love him more. I think that Haley was so funny. The "Fabio" line makes me laugh every time! 😆

I actually loved the naley stuff in this episode it was just so funny, it was peak comedy. I always go back to their moments in this episode, because poor Nathan had no idea what to do 😂😂 their stuff definitely wasn’t meant to be taken seriously at all

The Naley stuff was meant to be somewhat funny. It was pregnancy hormones. She was all over the place.

Yeah this storyline was dumb, even the actors hated it. I think Haley was only upset because she was hormonal, not because she was actually that upset over Nathan having a past. More just pregnancy hormones and vulnerability.
