Interesting comment, and I agree with it Thought here... I would say only in part it applies? Miss Hoffman in Act 6, Chapter 1 of the Tiger and the Dragon Arc “Oh, we realise that. It’s just…well, you’ll understand once you’ve been here for a while. This isn’t some sleepy pastoral realm frozen in time anymore. Everything is moving. There’s something new every season. New ideas. New technology. New ways of seeing the world. We need more artisans, administrators, schoolteachers, engineers…all sorts of specialists to create our new reality. It’s an exciting time to be alive!” That and previous other things in older chapter Hence my previous personal view in comment above, that it feel lighty done a bit thick here on some aspect (seem lack of awareness and feel totally 'antagonist' view and resistance about the governement and etc for all Guildmaster), though understandable :) I suspect that they also had laying it more thick and etc to Momon to get their personal goal done on this meeting, I doubt they really deep inside totally so much like what we say and are show in this chapter, in good part of it? Sure but totally and on everything? I doubt it Momon is someone to 'manipulate' for them and bring to their side, he is just an adventurer after all and are not expected to know and be like them (Guildmaster 'ruling' the Urban society and etc)

This kind of insular thinking was the norm of human history up until the renaiscense. Up until we realized there was power to be gained from a deeper understanding of the world and curiosity is a gift not a sin, keeping your nose off things beyond your every day life was a virtue and the persuit of knowledge based around the grand discoveries of our ancestors, so much so in the West as in the East. The Future as an idea is very new in human thinking. It is actually super interesting that the rise introspective thinking is also tied to the creation of crystal clear mirrors.

I wonder if Merchant/City Classes had made them blind to what is happening around them. I'm surprised they didn't sent out spies to first recon the area before committing to the action of Ludmilla territory blockade... welp looks like Bloodmila will rise up in this economic war. 😜 Heh can't wait for the surprise Pikachu merchant faces when Ludmilla is thriving without the Guilds.

TBH as many here pointed out it can as easily be something to do with Liam. But yeah, the time for Philip seems about right and I had a feeling that this chapter would end this way while reading it. But It can easily mean that the author is baiting us

Silmadrillion

It's either the situation in rolan'gorek or in blum rushr

Zarik0

That seem a good plausible one as logically the next arc (and maybe next chapter) should be about the follow up on Liam Pov and situation in Re-estize

I was not surprised by their position and attitude, it was the sheer feeling (that I feel) of their total full lack of awareness about plenty of things after more or less 2 years under their new government and with the stated goal and action of it in this period (and also of the Noble (including the Quartet who worked with the Guild here and here on some of these goal)) really feeling its the BIG blind spot and moreover they have their head stuck into the sand very hard and had done 'nothing' about many of these subject and about all the change (except continue the exact same things and way (Human) that they where doing before SK like nothing changed at all and direction of thing is the same) I was ready to see what we seen about them in this chapter, but not the sheer level of it that we get here and what it seem to imply at first glance about them with the really out of the mark and 'zero' awareness that they seem to have They seem really stuck and so back in the past, doing the same thing and in the same way as before, which I guess is expected to a point as it get them on top of thing before, well it feel its the typical Local Human we don't look at things at all and try very hard to ignore things because its unpleasant/scary or etc and well I guess I expected atleast a little bit more about some of them and that they were not totally into that (particulary with Hoffman with his previous old old appearance in the beginning of the story) Well just a little thing in the end And maybe they were laying it thick or etc in this meeting with momon (goal was to get his promess to defend them against 'any corrupt action' and possible 'unreasonnable' forced thing put on them (by Ludmilla 'military' force or etc)) and so they were not so much oblivous about all things

Gopard

Thanks for the chapter! Is it Re-Estize? Holy Kingdom? They just learned of the Beastmen Confederecy revelation by one naughty dragon? Or something completely different non Cannon?

Honestly the Countess ordering food from the SK would pretty much upend a lot of plans. Alternatively, Liam accidently starts a small civil war in the Kingdom, accidently, by rizzing the Blumrush princess and causing her and the Countess to declare an emnity for his hand. Being a Empire Ruining Beauty is too much for our poor boy.

Zarik0

Rethinking a bit and does it not feel its a bit to soon in the timeline for the Phillipe act? Can be other things and with author seem to be in a strike phase to tease us lately :) Possibly its some new about the mess and the new 'Faction' put in place by the Countess who is with Liam (and maybe one of their new action they just taken after the chaos of their reunion in the last chapter of Liam Pov), who make Albedo plan change direction in this region as new unexpected info and event about them (or linked to them) just come out

Arthur Rebello

The Guilds position and attitude make a lot more sense when you consider production vocations have essentially 0 combat power in the New World. If they bend over even once to the combat/command classes they are going to get steamrolled to oblivion. Which is also why enforcing their Cartel is goal n°1 for them.

Now that I think about it everybody and their brother felt like their brain broke when that idiot stole the grain. Is Nia the high priest over the holy Kingdom already. I remember the holy kingdoms had priest was one of the seals on the war declaration. Now that I think about it everybody found out about the grand theft by reading it in a report. Also y'all are right, we've been double cliffhangered. The other one has not resolved yet. I know this is unreasonable, but I miss getting chapters every other day. I have an absolute burning desire to read the next chapter and it's not available yet. Pardon my French but I feel like I'm getting blue balled here. If you're old enough to be reading this story you're old enough to understand that this term. It also means that the story is that damn good. Side note, if the chapter drops early I will not complain. Once again I know I'm being unreasonable but I really was read the next chapter like now. Anyways thanks for the hard work, good chapter, and for the love of God don't quit.

Hussar L

You’ve been convicted to… cliffhanging!

Oh my god IT'S HERE! It's the beginning! For the Guildmasters, damn man, was it not a bit too much thick and just too much how they are? I mean I was not thinking and expecting at all that they were so much like that, a bit yes, but they are just really...So wide of the mark...I have no words and just wooo feel limit a bit too much, after all its been years for them to realize atleast some thing and start rolling with it (what the Goverment stated Goal is and said)...feel they have 'done' nothing at all in the change and adapt aspect and are buried their head in the sand With how they are, its just need a 'Purge' at some point no? Nationalization of the Guild and under new management and restructuration by the Government (like the Adventurer Guild) to go away with so much of the non-sense aspect they practise or etc and their view

Arthur Rebello

Or it could be him. One of the maneuvers right before his great idea was planting cash crops instead of food. With the incoming famine, it could have been the event right before him going off the deep end.

Arthur Rebello

It feels too early for the dumbest man alive to make a move, unless the plan is making a point of how abrubt it was on the flux of events.

Aluminum Brain

This emergency is either Phillip's attack on the caravans or Rolengorek ceasing trade with the Sorcerous Kingdom after learning the truth of their new trading partner. It could also be something else, but I don't think so. Can't wait for more!

Saphy

My only thought is the uh, incredibly smart grain stealing event. Assuming it is that?

Duke of Coffee

So is it two incoming wars, RE-Estize and the Beastmen Confederation in effect? The cliffhangers are killing me, Bloodmila incoming yes~

Maakolo

For the same thing, as well.

No Data

Two cliffhangers in a row damn

Gabriel Marinho

will this be the beginning of the war in Re-Estize Kingdom ??

Sam

Seasons change, time passes by... as the weeks become the months, become the years...

Arthur Rebello

We have been cliff hangered nuuuuhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!
