The 3D breakdowns actually take a while to get these together so I might not do these quite as frequently as I like but I also like to share the guts of the process!
(Also before I say anything, real quick shout out again to Michael Shilliday / Hawtkoffee, who I will never be able to thank enough for letting us use his model)
One thing that I really like to do that never looks "right" with the models is make characters' heads really big in pull-out shots, especially when they're a lighter moment. It's cute and makes the expressions more readable! I try really hard to use the models as guides instead of rigid rules of how something should look, that tends to result in something really stiff looking. It's been a learning curve, I hope over time I'm able to make everything look really naturalistic with minimal over-thinking!!
For this chapter I've been trying to keep the palettes tight, have you noticed? Every scene has its own strong color identity, I've been trying to keep things within ~two main colors. For the opening scene it was yellow and reddish purple. I'd like to keep doing this moving forward, I think it really builds a strong mood and also takes less time for me lol

I have noticed the palette! There was a lot of blue when Cameron showed up. I loved it when she drank out of his glass and became blue herself on page 7-10 and then back to Leeds on the next page with the pink/yellow theme.

I think it's fascinating - especially that middle page, where we see the transition between the 3D models and your sketches on top. I love what you're saying about the balance of using the models and trusting yourself to make something "look right." Your eye can tell when something is off or too rigid, and I think that's just a human thing.
