This whole scene continued to be a challenge to do hahaha - the opening scene of Chapter 5 moves really quickly but I wanted to make sure the audience had a strong sense of environment, power dynamic, and character emotion.
I wanted really badly for the middle environmental shot (panel 4) to have a top-down camera angle to let the characters breathe more in an open environment - but there were some problems with a shot like that in a page like this! First, this was a page with 6 panels, so I couldn't really give a panel like that the height it demanded that would also allow readable expressions... also I really wanted to do that trick with Percy's eye getting framed by the loupe, so I had to put all characters on the same plane. OH WELL. It also allowed me to put Hale in a visually dominant place over Percy and Leeds, even though he's 3 seconds from being pummeled lol
The page was originally 5 panels, but we added a 6th panel REALLY late for better flow into the next page. I'm excited to talk about that one! >:D
