What the Hell is up with Ronnie’s Hair?!
🕑 Added 2025-04-19 06:20:46 +0000 UTCMatt has been trying to draw Ronnie and mentioned her hair being hard to decipher, which fair enough, I wasn’t even entirely sure how her hair worked until recently when I saw a nurse with a similar hair style and was like “oh that’s what I was trying to draw!”
Anyway, here’s an attempted guide on how her lion’s mane should function

I’m looking forward to seeing your take on her, it made me realize I never made like real reference guides for my characters if other people want to draw them I just pointed at them and said “eh, batter up I guess!” so that’s something I’m going to need to work on sooner than later… I also realized having to look up how a half pony actually hangs I had been drawing Ronnie’s hair wrong this whole time as I was drawing the green chunks as coming out of the blue patch without the pink section to properly transition, so even I learned something!

Whoa, this is awesome! Thank you! I’d show you what I’ve done toward drawing her, but I don’t think I can post something like that in a Patreon comment. But it will probably make it onto DeviantArt before long. I wound up making the “bananas” thinner and shorter like in your “real person” example. But otherwise I think (hope!) she’s going to look pretty good.
