Final background art for Tech School!

This week I drew the last few backgrounds for Keens school campus, and of course I’d love to show you what I made. So here it is :)
The Girls Dorm
Now I had a lot of fun again drawing this background!
I really wanted to detail the idea, that all the rooms here are actually shuttles. So, I drew a lot of shuttles that are all parked against this huge tower.
But to really show that these are shuttles - and not just just weird rooms- I had to let them fly off. And that’s what you can see in this gif. Here I just quickly repositioned the shuttles between two frames, but in game I will fluently animate this.
And here you can see how I turned my messy sketch, into this neatly drawn background :)
Grabbing the Magnet
Now the purpose of this backgound is to give the player a good overview of the girls dorm- and so it did not include any interactions.
But when I imagined how to lock in the janitor-droid at the graffiti scene, I somehow came to the idea to do that with a magnet. Now of course it wouldn’t be fun if Keen already had the magnet, so I had to find a good place to hide it. And what’s the best spot to hide a magnet? Well, at the end of an open robot-hatch of course!
And if you want to get the magnet, you eventually end up in this scene ;)
The Boys dorm
So after I designed and drew the building of the girls dorm, I used that to create the entrance for the boys dorm as well. I still had to rescale everything, and blend vaious parts together, but I think it turned out quite nice.
And with that, I now have created all the backgrounds for Keens school campus :)
Next
Next I will draw a scene around the healing-pod, where the astronaut in pink will step out. And I will start sketching the sex scene for this update, which will be for Tonda.

Thank you Alfie! And I would love to have had a shuttle too. Dragging my bag of laundry to the train home wasn't always ideal ;)
