Scene: Things are falling into place!

Here's another art update!
As part of the upcomming story, Keen will be searching through some boxes in the Teleporter Room (labeled ‘missing items’). But things won't really go as planned for Keen.
So, I've been drawing that scene & this is what happens...
Next you see how I sketched the scene. Making it all work was a bit tricky again, because like with many other backgrounds, this one was initially just designed for something else ( teleport scenes). But once I placed Keen on a crate...everthing soon fell in place *ahem!
Next I had to cut up the background a bit more, to move the boxes around. And I added some extra blue gradients (‘depth fog’), to ensure that Keen wouldn’t disappear so much in the cluttered background. Here’s a gif showing how I cut up the image.
Now I can imagine that you wonder why I put in this scene? But all will become clear in the next game-update!
Meanwhile I’ve also been writing the remaining dialogs for the junkyard-storyline & I have been designing a new mini-game as well :)

Indeed. DS9 did have a tribble episode! It was titled (are you ready for this?) "Trials And Tribble-ations" :-) It should be on Netflix in many places, if you ever want to see it again. Cheers!

Oh the Tribbles! Didn't DS9 (?) have an episode where they returned to that origional episode & where Worf had to explain why their Klingnon appearance changed so much (or maybe I'm mixing up things here?) But it made me laugh quite a bit :) And I will check out Lower Decks, it's still on my to-watch-list. Thanks for reminding me! I actually have to watch more of the newer series, but time doesn't allows me to do that. So I still have to see how Seven ends up... I also don't know the backstory of how the Voyager show was made; but I just like general concept of it; getting lost & finding your way home is a good starting point for many stories. The crew also feels a bit more like a family or so, which I personally like :)

Haha! Now you're just playin' with us, Robin! :-) But that's certainly allowed! It took me a while to "warm up" to Voyager, in part because I knew some of what was going on behind the scenes (my brother and his wife are both successful working actors, and they hear a lot of insider news). Nothing I have to say about Voyager is particularly scandalous -- only that some of the embedded writing staff were not really trying very hard to bring in their best work -- but knowing this, it took me a few years before I could watch the show and enjoy it for what it is. I imagine you were as intrigued as I was to see Jeri Ryan return as Seven in Star Trek: Picard? I think she's a better actress than she generally got credit for back in the day, and it's good to see her acting again. Oh, If you haven't seen the "Star Trek: Lower Decks" animated series, by the way, I'd say give it a look, especially since you do cartoon-style art yourself. At first, I avoided the show like the plague, because I thought the whole thing would just rely on constant mockery of all things Star Trek -- and I didn't need that kind of show. Like you, I enjoy Star Trek, even though it's not always perfect. I was wrong about Lower Decks, though. The show, set sometime after TNG, constantly dances on the line between silliness and believability, and usually gets it right, in my opinion. Most of the comedy comes out the characters simply being more ordinary, and they're not always doing the coolest things Starfleet has to offer. The somewhat exaggerated cartoon art style also helps to "sell" any comedy which occurs. My Trek fan friends and I all love Lower Decks now, and I figured I'd mention it to you. Everyone has their own likes and dislikes though, and I get that. If it's not for you, no harm no foul. All good. Remember not to feed your tribbles, :-) Be well!
