I think the conception of free will matters mostly in moral and legal senses. If every choice is actually a magicians forced choice, it feels strange to me to say it was free. Yet we have very few strict liability laws, so I think we should want to treat each other more kindly for the I did it but I could not have done otherwise. If people are effectively the same physically as hurricanes say, then we should rethink a lot about the world imo.

Im with you about free will. Its interesting as a thought experiment but its like the tree falls in a forest question. I upset people when I answer the question with yes - but who cares?
