Too on the nose I think subtlety works. This supposed to be modern. And yeah I def doodled last one with piracy in mind.

I really like the last one on the right, the first two just seem a bit to tech-wear to be piraty - could always throw some kinda armband on 'em with a jolly roger on it, don't know if that would be too on the nose or not though

Haha well he already has it in his pre time travel design. I need futuristic space pirate, so I dont want it to be too medieval.

Maybe having him wear a bandana sometimes could help sell the pirate vibe? Or having unbuttoned shirts with ruffles or something, depends on the kind of pirate vibe you want though
