Dev Update 02/17/25
🕑 Added 2025-02-18 04:55:52 +0000 UTCARGHHHHHHHHHHH
I've made a few jokes before along the lines of "dog ate my hard drive, game is now on hold", but a dog might as well have done it 'cause that motherfucker decided to die on me yesterday. Luckily it was just the drive I kept my Ren'Py shit in, so worst case scenario I lose all my backups for previous versions of the game + some other random data I kept in it. I've started the recovery process and will be sending it in to hopefully get that shit restored. Anyway, all of that is not ideal, but shouldn't affect dev times all that much, if at all. It's just a VERY VERY ANNOYING thing to deal with.
anyway.
hello.
zen tako has now taken over the keyboard and will tell you about the game and the progress made.
I didn't meet my render goal for the week, which was 150, but I got 100, and that's good enough.
the numbers currently sit at 850 images and 33 animations
everytime I look at my numbers I giggle a bit, 'cause getting around 1000 renders used to mean "oh shit! update soon!" but you're unfortunately reading a bum dev's dev update who keeps making updates bigger and adding more branches even though people only play like 1 route.
SPEAKING OF ROUTES!!
I made (and by that I mean I forced my lovely friend Junior) a save transfer thingy! I'll be uploading the new version with the save transfers either next week on the 24th (to match the Steam release date of the completed Season 1) or sooner if I get bored/impatient.
I also made a path builder of sorts, for those who can't be bothered to start a save from scratch (how dare you!) and want to jump straight into Season 2.
That's enough yapping for today. Thank you for reading, and wishlist Season 2 of Westview or I'll go homeless and never finish the [insert your LI of choice] route.

Stay safe.

Well, what is the only path people do? Because I suspect I'm a non-conformist
