They are soulless but it is like the relics from cyberpunk. The relation is understandable just because of the "Machine Spirit" being a catch all and in some lore the imperium use to just chalk them up to "Alien Machine Spirits". I just say no because to relate the Necrons to the simple catch all is like relating a tiger to all cats. Sure both are cute and fuzzy but only one is acceptable to die to when it grows up.

No, Necrons do not have Machine Spirits. They are soulless, former organic beings which transended to become robotic. The confusion is valid just because machine spirit is a catch all term for "machine does thing we didnt tell it to do". Consider Necrons as a species turned into machines rather than just machines with possibly AI.

Space marine 2 would be the obvious choice but I would recommend looking into Kingdom Come Deliverance. The sequel is set to come out in about a month so could be good timing to get into the series

More Space Marine 2 if yall havnt finished it! Personally I got into Factorio (multiplayer go brr) a month ago and it's quickly become an all time favorite. Endless world generation centered around gathering resources and constantly developing better automation including automated trains! There are hostile bug creatures to deal with but many settings you can tweak as you learn. A 10/10 game and I plan to buy the Spage Age DLC soon! Anyway, see everyone for the stream!

you should check out 40k gladius relics of war its like 40k civ and it has some cool mods i highly recommend the heroes of legend series of mods for it if you end up playing the game
