Just a thought, but in your discussion of primarchs aging, given that the primarchs are partial warp entities, could there appearance be based off of an internal subconscious projection of how they view themselves? Ie, the lion feels older and therefore appears older, and thus why Guilleman is starting to age as well, since he's feeling worn out and and older, his physical appearance is starting to reflect that?

I tend to think the Primarchs, Custodes and Space Marines don't age naturally, but they do accumulate damage As they go on, they take more injuries and they heal well but not perfectly so they end up slowing down as they get older

One thing to note about primarchs aging is that Perturabo & the Iron Warriors were made to fight the Hrud during the Great Cursade, a horrible alien race that can distort time to age their enemies to death. While his marines died rapidly around him, Perty himself seemed to be fine despite being aged the equivalent of thousands of years. However the aged appearance of the Lion after 10k years in a coma shows that it has at least SOME effect on them.

From my knowledge, The Lion looks like an old man due to the stress he had to deal with in a coma dreaming of the events he witnessed on the stone slab. Guliianmin was in stasis and doing personal hygiene techniques because of being the big blue boy.

So with primarchs and old age, I think that the pipeline of custodes through emperor doesnt match up because as you said, the custodes are hand made. The primarchs are definetly made custom too but unlike the space marines the custodes arent straight from the emperor or primarchs. They're custom made to specificaly be the best standing guard, meaning they must stand watch for a VERY long time
