This painting of a few poor souls adrift, heavily damaged and worse for wear perfectly mirrors this moment in the studio where motivation is waning, the impetus to focus and dive into complicated projects just isn't there and a general malaise has settled. So how does one find a way to drum up energy and interest, how does one chart a course home... well, you'll just have to watch to find out.
Heads up Patreons, I'll be out of town the week following this the video's publish date so the epilogue will come a bit later. I have videos posting on 7/26 and 8/2 so hopefully I don't get too backlogged!!

Are you ever surprised by the difference in a painting's colors after you clean it, or have you developed the ability to guage how much the varnish has affected the colors?
This was the kind of video I needed today. A of all, it reminded me that even master craftsmen sometimes get stuck in a rut. B of all, it was inspiring to watch you motivate yourself, and thereby be reinvigorated. So thank you for this. Sidenote, from one Chicagoan to another: how are you holding up in the dog days of summer?
